Art Kenney (basketball)
Arthur Kenney (born March 5, 1946) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played at the power forward and center positions, and was nicknamed "The Great Red". High school Kenney played high school basketball at Power Memorial Academy (PMA), in Manhattan, New York City. At Power Memorial, he was a teammate of Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). The team's head coach was Jack Donohue, and its assistant coach was Dick Percudani. In May 2000, Kenney's high school senior season team of 1963–64, was named "The Best High School Team in American History", by the National Sportswriters Association, and it was inducted into the Catholic High School Athletic Association's Hall of Fame as, "The Team of the Century". Rudy Bennett (basketball)
The Motions were a Dutch band from The Hague founded in 1964 and active until 1970. The lead singer was Rudy Bennett, with Robbie van Leeuwen on guitar, Henk Smitskamp on bass guitar, and Sieb Warner on drums. They were the first Nederbeat band to achieve chart success. Their single "Wasted Words" was their first major hit in the Netherlands in 1965. Other songs include "Why Don't You Take It", "There's No Place to Hide", "Every Step I Take" and "It's The Same Old Song". Guitar player Robbie van Leeuwen went on to achieve international success as a founder of Shocking Blue, with their song "Venus" in particular. Rudy Bennett also released successful records. Jiří Zedníček (born February 14, 1945) is a former Czech professional basketball player. He was voted to the Czechoslovakian 20th Century Team. Club career In his club career, Zedníček won the European-wide secondary level FIBA Cup Winner's Cup (later called FIBA Saporta Cup) championship, in the 1968–69 season. He was a member of the FIBA European Selection Team in 1966, 1967, 1969, 1971, and 1972. National team career Zedníček represented the senior Czechoslovakian national team at several EuroBaskets, and at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games. At the EuroBasket 1967, he was named the MVP of the tournament. With the national team, he also won a silver medal at the EuroBasket in Finland, in 1967, and a bronze medal at the EuroBasket in Italy, in 1969.
