FIA WTCC Race Of China
The FIA WTCC Race of China is a round of the World Touring Car Championship currently held at the Shanghai International Circuit located in Shanghai, China. The 2011 round was first announced to be held at the Guangdong International Circuit, but was later moved to Tianma Circuit for an unspecified reason. For 2012 the race moved to the nearby Shanghai International Circuit. Gordon Shedden (born 15 February 1979) is a Scottish auto racing driver, currently competing in the British Touring Car Championship for the Halfords Racing with Cataclean team. He has previously won the series on three occasions; in 2012, 2015 and 2016, driving for Honda/ Team Dynamics each time. Mehdi Bennani ( ar, مهدي بناني, born 25 August 1983) is a Moroccan racing driver who currently competes in the TCR Europe with Sébastien Loeb Racing. He was TCR Europe Champion in 2020 with the Belgian team Comtoyou Racing. He became the first Moroccan driver to win a world championship race organized by the FIA, after his victory in Shanghai in the WTCC. The 2018 FIA World Touring Car Cup (known as the FIA WTCR presented by Oscaro for sponsorship reasons) was the inaugural season of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). It took over from the World Touring Car Championship and adopted the TCR technical regulations.
