''FEAT'' (pronounced "F-E-A-T") is the first studio album by American record production duo the Hood Internet. It was released on Decon on October 2, 2012. It features guest appearances from A.C. Newman, Cadence Weapon, and Class Actress, among others. Music videos were created for "Won't Fuck Us Over", "One for the Record Books", and "More Fun". The remix album, ''FEAT Remixes'', was released on December 18, 2012. Critical reception At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 54, based on 6 reviews, indicating "mixed or average reviews". Jordan Sargent of ''Pitchfork'' gave the album a 3.0 out of 10, writing, "An album of original productions was a logical next step for a group that's been slowly easing its way out of mashup purgatory for years, but ''FEAT'' makes it clear that the Hood Internet were not ready." The Hood Internet
The Hood Internet is an American record production duo based in Chicago, Illinois, specializing in mashups. It is composed of Aaron Brink (ABX) and Steve Reidell (STV SLV). History In 2007, the Hood Internet started posting the mashup tracks to their website. ''New York'' categorized the duo's mashup track of Chris Brown and A. C. Newman, titled "Drug Drug Kiss Kiss", in the "lowbrow" and "brilliant" quadrant of their Approval Matrix in 2007. The Hood Internet produced BBU's "Please, No Pictures", which was included in BBU's ''Bell Hooks'' mixtape in 2012. The duo entirely produced Max B and Isaiah Toothtaker's ''Toothy Wavy''. It was released on Mishka in May 2012. Their first album of original material, titled ''FEAT'', was released on Decon in September 2012. BBU is an American hip hop group from Chicago, Illinois. It consists of Jasson Perez, Richard "Epic" Wallace, and Michael "Illekt" Milam. The group's name is an acronym for "Bin Laden Blowin' Up" and "Black, Brown and Ugly". Career BBU's 2009 song, "Chi Don't Dance", was listed by ''Pitchfork'' as "Best New Track". Annie Hart is an American film singer-songwriter and composer. She primarily composes and performs in the band Au Revoir Simone. In 2017, she released a solo album entitled ''Impossible Accomplice''. Hooray For Earth
Hooray for Earth is an American band and recording project founded by composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Noel Heroux. While the first Hooray for Earth live show occurred in 2005, self-released home recordings date back to 2003. The group played frequently in Boston, garnering attention from local publications. Heroux relocated to Manhattan in August 2007, generally pulling band activity toward NYC. On February 26, 2008, Dopamine Records released the six-track ''Cellphone'' EP. Zambri
Zambri is the New York City based experimental music project of sisters Cristi Jo and Jessica Zambri. The duo write and produce the entirety of recorded material. Drummer Seth Kasper and multi-instrumentalist Will Spitz complete the group's live lineup. Zambri's first live show in its current lineup occurred on September 12, 2010 at Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. Many positive live reviews circulated shortly after the band's first performances in New York City and Brooklyn. Cristi Jo and Jessica toured south to Austin, TX in March, 2011 to perform several shows as featured vocalists with Hooray For Earth at Austin's yearly SXSW Festival. Isaiah Toothtaker (born 1981) is an American rapper, designer, and tattoo artist. He is a co-founder of the indie hip hop collective Machina Muerte. Biography Toothtaker is of Mexican and Native American heritage, who grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He was homeless since age 11 and his stage name echoes getting into fistfights. Tobacco (musician)
Thomas Fec, better known by his stage name Tobacco (stylized in all caps), is an American electronic musician. He is the frontman of the psychedelic rock band Black Moth Super Rainbow, in addition to working as a solo artist. As of late 2018, he has teamed up with rapper Aesop Rock to become the music duo Malibu Ken, releasing their self-titled debut album in January 2019. History He grew up in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Hampton High School in 1998 along with bandmate Seth Ciotti. Andrew Sims (born October 19, 1982), better known mononymously as Sims, is an American rapper from Minneapolis. He has been a member of Doomtree and Shredders. Early life Sims was born Andrew Sims on October 19, 1982 in Minnesota. He grew up in Hopkins, a suburb of Minneapolis. His parents were former musicians.
