FC Vevey United is a Swiss football club based in Vevey, Vaud canton. History Vevey Sports The club was founded in 1905 as ''Vevey Sports''. They had 7 seasons in the Swiss Super League: 1974–75, 1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84, 1984–85, 1985–86 and 1986–87. They lost a promotion-relegation playoff against FC Lugano in 1987. They were relegated again, to the third tier of Swiss football, in 1988. FC Vevey Sports 05 In 2005 the club was declared bankrupt and dissolved, then refounded as ''FC Vevey Sports 05''. Lionel Zouma (born 10 September 1993) is a footballer who plays as a central defender for Swiss club Vevey United and the Central African national team. Club career Born in Lyon, Zouma began his development at Vaulx-en-Velin before moving to Sochaux, where he made his senior debut for their reserve team in CFA ( fourth tier) in the second half of the 2010–11 season. Zouma made his professional debut on 16 October 2011 in a league match against Valenciennes. On 12 July 2016, Zouma signed a three-year contract with Greek club Asteras Tripoli of Superleague Greece. Miroslav "Ćiro" Blažević (; born 10 February 1935) is a Croatian former professional football manager and player. His professional playing career spanned from 1954 to 1966, during which he played for Dinamo Zagreb, Lokomotiva Zagreb, FK Sarajevo, HNK Rijeka and Swiss clubs FC Sion and FC Moutier. FC Lugano is a Swiss football club based in Lugano. The club was refounded as AC Lugano in 2004 as a result of relegation and the financial situation of FC Lugano, which was founded in 1908.
