FC Trelleborg
FC Trelleborg is a Swedish football club located in Trelleborg in Skåne County. Background Stavsten/Ymor Fotbollklubb was founded in 2006 and played in Division 3 Södra Götaland. At the end of the 2008 season it was decided to change the name of the club from Stavsten/Ymor FK to FC Trelleborg. This has been a most exciting initiative as the new name has strengthened the club's identity by providing a clearer connection with the city of Trelleborg. Over the last couple of seasons youth development has continued to thrive which has been reflected by increased membership levels. However, training schedules have become increasingly hampered by the lack of a proper home venue and the club continues to conduct its operations across three locations, namely Ymorvallen, Vannhög and Söderslättshallen. Trelleborg () is a town in Skåne County, Sweden, with 43,359 inhabitants as of December 31, 2015. It is the southernmost town in Sweden located some west from the southernmost point of Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula. Division 3 is the fifth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 144 Swedish football teams. Division 3 had status as the official third level from 1928 to 1986, but was replaced by Division 2 in 1987. It then had status as the official fourth level until 2005, but was replaced once again as Division 1 was recreated in 2006. The competition There are 144 clubs in Division 3, divided in 12 groups of 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 22 games.
