Football Club Slivnishki Geroy ( bg, Футболен клуб Сливнишки герой) are a Bulgarian association football club based in Slivnitsa, Sofia Province, currently playing in the South-West Third League. Their home ground since 1966 has been Slivnishki Geroi Stadium. The team has played in blue and white stripes throughout most of its history. Atanas Kurdov ( bg, Атанас Курдов; born 28 September 1988) is a Bulgarian footballer who plays as a forward for Botev Ihtiman. His father is former player and manager Petar Kurdov. Career Youth career Kurdov is a product of the Levski Sofia's Youth Academy. In 2007, he spent weeks on a trial period in Celtic FC and Tottenham Hotspur. Radoslav Metodiev Zdravkov ( bg, Радослав Meтoдиeв Здравков; born 30 July 1956) is a Bulgarian retired footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Zdravkov was born in Sofia. During his professional career, which spanned nearly 20 years, he represented Lokomotiv Sofia, CSKA Sofia, Portugal's G.D. Chaves, S.C. Braga, F.C. Paços de Ferreira and F.C. The Bulgarian Third Amateur Football League ( bg, Трета аматьорска футболна лига, Treta Amat'orska Futbolna Liga), commonly referred to as Third League ( bg, Трета лига) or Treta liga, is the third level of the Bulgarian football league system. Third League operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the second and the fourth tier of the Bulgarian football league pyramid – respectively being Second League and the A Oblast Groups. Slivnitsa
Slivnitsa ( bg, Сливница ) is a town in western Bulgaria, 22 km away from Sofia, lying on the main road connecting the capital with the Bulgarian-Serbian border. Slivnitsa is part of Sofia Province and is close to the towns of Kostinbrod and Dragoman. Called by historians the "battle of the captains vs the generals," referring to the young Bulgarian army, whose highest rank went up to a captain, the Battle of Slivnitsa was a decisive factor in the victory of the Bulgarian Army over the Serbs between 17 and 19 November 1885.
