FC Pune City (R) was FC Pune City's reserve team that participanted in the I-League 2nd Division. FC Pune City Academy was the youth setup of FC Pune City. They participated in Youth League U18 and U15, as well as Pune Football League. History Formation On 26 August 2016, it was announced that FC Pune City had purchased the Pune F.C. Academy and rebranded it under their name. At the same time, the team unveiled their youth development plans which included fielding teams in Youth League U18 and U15, as well as Subroto Cup and Pune Football League. Shut down ''FC Pune City Reserves and Academy'' got dissolved in 2019, soon after their first team FC Pune City shut down its operations due financial and technical difficulties. I-League 2nd Division
I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. To avoid confusion with I-League being the second tier, the league was renamed to I-League 2 by AIFF in 2022. Bandodkar Gold Trophy
The Bandodkar Gold Trophy, was an annual Indian football tournament held in Goa and organized by Goa Football Association. The tournament was first started in 1970 and to showcase the Goans' capabilities to organise an All-India football tournament. This was the first major cup tournament hosted by GFA, which was aided by the then Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar, who being a sports aficionado donated the trophy. This enabled the GFA to showcase its organisational skills. Apart from some top clubs from Goa, clubs from other Indian states, also have participated in this competition. Dempo SC has won the tournament for a record eight times, while Salgaocar FC won the last major edition held in 1992. 2017 IFA Shield
The 2017 IFA Shield was the 121st edition of the IFA Shield. The tournament was designed as a U19 youth football tournament since 2015.That year, ten football clubs participated in final round. FC Pune City beat Mohun Bagan A.C. in final by 3–0 on 11 June 2017 to clinch their first IFA Shield title. Venue All the matches were held at East Bengal Ground, Mohun Bagan Ground, Mohammedan Sporting Ground and Howrah Maidan. Qualifying round 16 teams participated in the qualifying round and Pathachakra FC qualified to final round. Pathachakra defeated Kolkata XI by 1-1, (Pen 4-2) to enter the final round. The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association. The IFA is the governing body of football in the state of West Bengal, came into existence in 1893. Asish Rai (born 27 January 1999) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan SG.
