Futebol Clube do Porto, an association football team based in Porto, is the most decorated Portuguese team in international club competitions. The 1984 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was a football match contested between Juventus of Italy and Porto of Portugal. The 1992–93 UEFA Champions League was the 38th European Cup, the premier European club football tournament, and the first season with the UEFA Champions League branding (originally adopted only in the group stage). 1971–72 UEFA Cup
The 1971–72 UEFA Cup was the inaugural year of the UEFA Cup (now known as the UEFA Europa League), which effectively replaced the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. It was won by English side Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Tottenham Hotspur over their countrymen Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., Wolverhampton Wanderers 3–2 on aggregate after a two-legged final. The 1964–65 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup club football tournament was won by West Ham United in a final at Wembley Stadium against 1860 Munich.
