FC Oberlausitz
FC Oberlausitz Neugersdorf is a German association football club from the town of Ebersbach-Neugersdorf in the Upper Lusatia (German:''Oberlausitz'') region of Saxony. The club's greatest success came in 2014–15 when it won promotion to the Regionalliga Nordost, one of the five regional leagues making up the fourth tier of German club football. This was courtesy of a runners-up finish in the NOFV-Oberliga Süd. History The club was formed on 12 December 1992 when the football department of TBSV Neugersdorf became independent. For the first years of its existence, the club played as OFC Neugersdorf, but on 1 July 2003 it adopted its current name. After a Bezirksliga championship in 1995, the club entered the at the time fifth-tier Landesliga Sachsen, now known as the Sachsenliga. Oberliga (football)
The Oberliga (, "Upper League"; plural: ''Oberligen'') is the fifth tier of the German football league system. Before the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008, it was the fourth tier. At the end of the 2011–12 season the number of Oberligas was increased from eleven to fourteen. With the exception of the Nazi Germany, Nazi-era ''Gauliga'', the term ''Oberliga'' (equivalent to ''Premier League'' in English) was used prior to the Introduction of the Bundesliga, formation of the Bundesliga in 1963 for first-division leagues in Germany. The Saxony Cup (''Sachsenpokal'') is a regional German football competition established in 1991 for clubs from Saxony who play in the 3. Liga, Regionalliga Nordost, the NOFV-Oberliga, the Landesliga Sachsen (the Saxon League), the four Landesklassen (formerly known as Bezirksligen) as well as the cup winners of the 13 districts of Saxony. 2018–19 Regionalliga
The 2018–19 Regionalliga is the eleventh season of the Regionalliga, the seventh under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Format A new promotion format was used this season. The champions of the Regionalliga Nordost and Südwest were promoted directly to the 2019–20 3.
