FC Mamer 32 is a football club based in Mamer, Luxembourg. History FC Mamer was founded in 1932. The club plied its trade in the lower leagues of Luxembourgish football for most of its first sixty years, and only reached the third tier (the 'First Division') briefly in the 1970s, before relegation again. In 1992, Mamer gained promotion to the First Division again, and solidified its position there. In 1999–2000, Mamer was promoted to the second league, the Division of Honour, but was relegated immediately. In 2004–05, Mamer reached the Division of Honour again. In its first season back in the higher division, Mamer finished fourth. Mamer
Mamer () is a commune and town (strictly classified as a village) in south-western Luxembourg. It is located west of Luxembourg City. The commune includes Mamer itself, and also the smaller communities of Capellen and Holzem. Mamer is situated on the river Mamer, a tributary of the Alzette. The A6 motorway from Luxembourg to Brussels, also designated European route E25, runs through Mamer. , Mamer, which lies in the east of the commune, has a population of 8,173. The town is the thirteenth-largest in Luxembourg. The commune as a whole is the fourteenth-most populous in the country. History The Treveri, a Gallic or Celtic tribe, inhabited the region for several hundred years until they were conquered by Julius Caesar in 54 BC. Vítor José Joaquim Pereira (born 27 August 1978) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a defensive midfielder, currently manager of Luxembourg club FC Mamer 32. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 69 matches and nine goals over six seasons, representing mainly Moreirense. He also appeared in the competition for Braga and União de Leiria. Playing career Pereira was born in Vieira do Minho, Braga District. Having had no impact whatsoever in two years at S.C. Braga he moved to the second division with G.D. Chaves, after which he signed with CF Extremadura in Spain, also in the second tier. Union Sportive Rumelange, usually abbreviated to US Rumelange, is a football club, based in Rumelange, in south-western Luxembourg. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any).
