FC Lisse
FC Lisse is a Dutch football club from Lisse which was founded in 1981. It currently plays in the Tweede Divisie. History The history of FC Lisse is linked to its Catholic religion, the first version of a football club being formed in 1911 by a local Catholic priest, called Lissese Voetbal Vereniging, which was later renamed Lisse Racing Club. In 1921 a separate team, RKVV Lisse, was formed. In 1942 Lisse RC was dissolved, and after World War Two another club, Lisser Boys, was formed. In 1968 an unsuccessful attempt was made to merge RKVV Lisse (later called Sportclub Lisse) and Lisser Boys, but on 17 March 1981 the teams were merged under the name FC Lisse. The club was automatically promoted to Topklasse in 2009–10, which was introduced as highest amateur level in the Netherlands. Lisse
Lisse () is a town and municipality in the province of South Holland in the Western Netherlands. The municipality, which lies within the Duin- en Bollenstreek, covers an area of of which is water. Its population was in . Located within the municipal boundary is also the community De Engel. History Early history The history of Lisse is closely related and similar to the neighboring towns of Hillegom and Sassenheim. Based on a document from 1198 which makes official mention of the town's name, Lisse celebrated its 800-year anniversary in 1998, although there is an indication that there was already a settlement there in the 10th century. In the Middle Ages, Lisse was a small settlement; there were only 50 houses in 1500. Kay Gerritsen (born 25 April 1997) is a Sint Maartener footballer who plays for FC Lisse of the Dutch Tweede Divisie, and the Sint Maarten national team. Club career Gerritsen began his career at FC VVC in Nieuw-Vennep where he stayed for a year and a half before joining FC Lisse. He played for Lisse through every youth level. He was promoted from the "B" to "A" team for the 2017–18 season. As part of preparation for the season, Gerritsen appeared in a friendly against Feyenoord. He made his league debut for the club on 3 February 2018 in a 3–0 victory over Achilles '29. Hanne Hagary (born 27 January 1989) is a Dutch footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Dutch Derde Divisie club JOS Watergraafsmeer. Van der Meulen previously played on loan from Ajax for HFC Haarlem in the Eerste Divisie and joined Dundee United on a short-term deal in January 2011. Tweede Divisie
Tweede Divisie ( en, Second Division) is the highest amateur (and historically the lowest professional) football league in the Netherlands. It was established in 1956, together with the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie. Between 1956 and 1960 and between 1962 and 1966, the league consisted of two divisions, Tweede Divisie A and Tweede Divisie B. The league was disbanded in 1971. Six clubs were promoted to the Eerste Divisie ( De Volewijckers, FC Eindhoven, FC VVV, Fortuna Vlaardingen, PEC and Roda JC), while the other eleven teams became amateur clubs.
