Asociația Fotbal Club Dunărea 2005 Călărași, commonly known as Dunărea Călărași (), is a Romanian professional football club from the city of Călărași, Călărași County. Founded in 1962, ''Valahii'' currently play in the Liga II, after finishing 13th out of 14 at the end of the 2018–19 Liga I season. History Celuloza Călărași (1962–1979) Dunărea Călărași was founded in 1962 as ''Celuloza Călărași'', but it was not the first football club of Călărași. 2007–08 Liga III
The 2007–08 Liga III season was the 52nd season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. It was the second in this format (six series of 18 teams each). The winners of each division got promoted to the 2008-09 Liga II season. There were also two playoff tournaments held at neutral venues involving the second placed teams, one with those from series 1, 2 and 3, the other with those from series 4, 5, and 6. The winners of the playoffs also got promoted to the 2008-09 Liga II season. The bottom three from each division were relegated at the end of the season to the county football leagues (Liga IV). From the 15th placed teams, another three were relegated. To determine these teams, separate standings were computed, using only the games played against clubs ranked 1st through 14th. FC Astra Giurgiu
Asociația Fotbal Club Astra Giurgiu (), commonly known as Astra Giurgiu or simply Astra, was a Romanian football club based in the city of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County. Founded in 1921 in Ploiești as ''Clubul Sportiv Astra-Română'', it spent the majority of its history in the lower leagues. On 19 October 2022, the club was officially shut down. Astra only began to achieve success in the late 1990s under the ownership of businessman Ioan Niculae, having reached the top flight for the first time in 1998. In 2012, after more than nine decades in Prahova County, it moved its home ground south to Giurgiu, a city at the border with Bulgaria. FCM Târgoviște
Fotbal Club Municipal Târgoviște (), commonly known as FCM Târgoviște, was a Romanian football team based in Târgoviște, Dâmbovița County, founded in 1948 and disbanded in 2018. FCM Târgoviște, which throughout history bore several other names, amassed nine appearances in the Divizia A, the highest tier of the Romanian league system, and their best result in the competition was finishing seventh in the 1978–79 campaign. FC Steaua București was a Romanian professional football club of which two current entities are claiming the records. The original ''FC Steaua București'' team was part of the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence. In 1998, the club and facilities were separated from the sports club and taken over by a group of shareholders in a post-Ceaușescu privatisation scheme, allegedly leading to one of the shareholders (Gigi Becali) acquiring full ownership five years later. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. Fotbal Club Politehnica Timișoara (), commonly known as Politehnica Timișoara or simply Poli Timișoara, was a Romanian football club from Timișoara, Timiș County, established in 1921 and dissolved in 2012. During its existence, the team won two Cupa României trophies and was twice runner-up in the Liga I. It amassed 49 seasons in the latter competition.
