FC Ahal
Ahal Änew Football Club ( tk, Ahal Änew Futbol Kluby), or simply Ahal FC, is a Turkmen professional association football club based in the Änew, Ahal Province. Founded in 1989, the club played its first-ever top flight season in 1992. The club plays its home matches at the 20,000 seater Ashgabat Stadium. History During 1989–91, the club participated in the Soviet Second League. FC Ahal played in the top division of Turkmenistan in 1992, winning bronze medal, but the following year the team was disbanded. The returning season was 1998–99. In 2013, the team won Cup title, led by Ali Gurbani. In 2013 Turkmenistan Cup final team beat Altyn Asyr and won the trophy for the second time. In 2014 season the team began by winning the 2014 Super Cup of Turkmenistan, beating HTTU (4–2). Ashgabat Stadium
The Ashgabat Stadium ( tk, Aşgabat stadiony) is a multi-purpose stadium in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for celebrations and football matches. The stadium holds 20,000 people and was built in 2011. History In 2009, on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow allocated funding for construction of a multipurpose stadium for events by 20 thousand seats. Construction led the Turkish company Polimeks. Opening of the stadium Ashgabat was held on 28 October 2011. The opening of the sports complex was attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. The opening ceremony on the new stadium was a big colorful presentation devoted to the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. All completed with traditional long colorful fireworks. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. Clubs from Kuwait have won four titles, making them the most successful nation in the competition. 2009 Ýokary Liga
The 2009 Turkmenistan Higher League (Ýokary Liga) season was the seventeenth season of Turkmenistan's professional football league. It began on 25 April 2009 with the first round of games and ended on 7 November 2009 with the 18th round of matches. FC Aşgabat is the defending champions. The first half of the season finished on 27 June 2009. The kick-off of the second half was on 4 September 2009.
