FCV Farul II Constanța, commonly known as Farul II Constanța () or simply Farul II, was the reserve squad of Romanian first league side, Farul Constanța. History The team was originally founded in 2003, under the name of ''FC Farul II Constanța'' and was enrolled in the Divizia C. Farul II played in the third tier until 2010, without notable results, but the main target of the team was tho grew up talented players for the senior squad of Farul. On 21 June 2021, Gheorghe Hagi, owner and founder of Viitorul Constanța, Gheorghe Popescu, chairman of Viitorul, and Ciprian Marica, owner of Farul Constanța, announced in a press conference that their teams have merged. The club that would continue in the Liga I will be Farul, while Viitorul virtually disappeared in the process of merger. Gheorghe Hagi
Gheorghe "Gică" Hagi (; born 5 February 1965) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently the owner and manager of Liga I club Farul Constanța. Stadionul Farul
Stadionul Farul is a multi-purpose stadium in Constanța, Romania. It was used mostly for football matches and until 2022 was the home ground of Farul Constanța. The stadium had also functions as an athletics arena, with track and field athletics facilities. The stadium was closed in 2022 and is proposed for demolition, also a new stadium is in plan to be built, on the same site. In 1970, Stadionul Farul was the first stadium in Romania to host a floodlit football match. The stadium has played host to the Romania national football team, in the World Cup 2006 Qualification, UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying and 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification. The stadium is currently in bad condition. Many of the seats in the stands are missing or are damaged. In general, the stadium is in need of renovation. History The team was founded in the summer of 2014 from the desire to have a team of seniors where the players who just finished the youth academy can be accommodated with the level of seniors in the idea of being subsequently promoted to the first team. The team was enrolled in Liga IV – Constanța County where it was crowned as champion after just one season, winning the league with only victories on the line.
