F.C. Olympique 13
F.C. Olympique 13 is a football team from Gibraltar. They play in the Gibraltar National League, having played in the Gibraltar Second Division since their formation in 2013 until the two divisions merged in 2019, and compete in the Rock Cup, the country's top tier cup competition. As with all other clubs in the territory, FC Olympique 13 currently share the Victoria Stadium on Winston Churchill Avenue. History The club formed in 2013 amid the heightened interest in football on Gibraltar, after the territory was admitted to UEFA that year. In their debut season in the Gibraltar Second Division, they finished 3rd and narrowly missed out on promotion. Victoria Stadium (Gibraltar)
Victoria Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Gibraltar. It is currently used mostly for football matches, but also hosts the annual Gibraltar Music Festival. It is located close to Gibraltar Airport just off Winston Churchill Avenue. It was named after the wife of Gibraltarian philanthropist John Mackintosh. Despite initial plans to replace the stadium in the 2010s, the Gibraltar Football Association purchased the stadium from the Government of Gibraltar in April 2017 in order to improve and renovate it. The redevelopment of the stadium is due to start in late 2022, with the national team announcing they will play UEFA and FIFA games in Faro, Portugal. The 2019 Gibtelecom Rock Cup was a single-leg knockout tournament contested by clubs from Gibraltar. There were seventeen clubs participating in the cup this season. The final was played on 26 May 2019. The winner of the competition qualified to compete in the 2019–20 Europa League. Europa were the defending champions after defeating Mons Calpe by a score of 2–1 in the previous season's final. First round The draw for the first round was held on 29 November 2018. The 2017–18 Rock Cup was a single-leg knockout tournament played by clubs from Gibraltar. This season's version of the Rock Cup was sponsored by Gibtelecom, and is known as the Gibtelecom Rock Cup for sponsorship purposes. This season's edition was held throughout the season for the first time since 2011–12. The winner of this competition, Europa, qualified for the 2018–19 Europa League. As they had also qualified for European competition via the 2017–18 Gibraltar Premier Division, the third place team in the league will take the spot in the Europa League. Kyle Casciaro (born 2 December 1987) is a Gibraltarian footballer who plays for Bruno's Magpies, and the Gibraltar national team, where he plays as a winger or forward. Club career Casciaro came through the ranks of Lincoln Red Imps with brothers Ryan and Lee, becoming ever present in the dominant Red Imps team that won 6 of its 14 consecutive league titles from 2010 to 2016. After suffering a serious injury in summer 2017, he retired from football. However, in January 2018 he came out of retirement, re-joining Lincoln while joining FC Olympique 13 on loan for the rest of the season, in order to regain match fitness. Jordan López Pérez (born 13 November 1986) is a Gibraltarian volleyball player and footballer who plays for Lynx in the Gibraltar Football League, and represented the Gibraltar national team in UEFA competition from 2013 until 2017, as a goalkeeper. Club career Perez started his career with College Europa and joined Manchester 62 in 2008, after a short stint at Lynx. In 2013, he moved to fellow league team Lincoln Red Imps, being champion of the League, the Cup and the League Cup. In October 2014 Perez rescinded with Lincoln, due to the lack of first team action, and joined Lions Gibraltar shortly after.
