F.C. Niutao
FC Niutao is a Tuvalu football club from Niutao, playing in the Tuvalu A-Division. The team's home ground is the Tuvalu Sports Ground, the only football field in Tuvalu. Niutao plays on an amateur level, as do all the teams in Tuvalu. They also have a reserve squad. History Niutao have won the first three years that the Tuvalu A-Division existed. In 2001, 2002 and in 2003. Nuitao were the runner up in the Independence Cup (held to recognise the independence of Tuvalu) in 1999 & 2000. Current squad :''As of 5 July 2012.'' Tuvalu Sports Ground
Tuvalu Sports Ground is a multi-use stadium in Funafuti, Tuvalu. It is currently used mostly for football and rugby matches. The stadium holds 1,500 people. It is the only stadium in Tuvalu so all football tournaments are played at the stadium: A-Division; Independence Cup; NBT Cup; Tuvalu Games and also the Christmas Cup. The Tuvalu national football team draws from players in the Tuvalu A-Division; with the national team training at the Tuvalu Sports Ground. The first large scale system for renewable energy in Tuvalu is a 40 kW solar panel installation on the roof of the Tuvalu Sports Ground stands. This grid-connected 40 kW solar system was established in 2008 by the E8 and Japan Government through Kansai Electric Company (Japan) and contributes 1% of electricity production on Funafuti. Teia (died 552 or 553 AD), also known as Teja, Theia, Thila, Thela, and Teias, was the last Ostrogothic King of Italy. He led troops during the Battle of Busta Gallorum and had noncombatant Romans slaughtered in its aftermath. In late 552/early 553, he was killed during the Battle of Mons Lactarius. Archaeological records attesting to his rule show up in coinage found in former Transalpine Gaul. Life Teia (Teja) was a military officer serving under Totila, who was chosen as his successor and raised over a shield after Totila was killed in the Battle of Taginae (also known as the ''Battle of Busta Gallorum'') in July 552. After this major Gothic defeat Teia gathered together the remaining Goths. Lakalaka Lotolua
The lakalaka (walking briskly) is a Tongan group dance where the performers are largely standing still and make gestures with their arms only. It is considered as the national dance of Tonga and part of the intangible human heritage. It is the ideal dance at formal occasions, like the birthday of the king or the opening of a church. History The current lakalaka seems to be quite equal to the ancient ''meelaufola'' (outstretched arms dance), of which descriptions exist from early European explorers, but the dance was forbidden by the missionaries for being too 'heathen'. This was confirmed in the 1850 code of King Tāufaāhau Tupou I. Notably, an article to that effect was absent from the 1862 code, although it was reinserted by 1885.
