F.C. Castiglione
F.C. Castiglione S.S.D. (formerly F.C. Sterilgarda Castiglione A.S.D.) is an Italian association football club, based in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Lombardy. History The club was founded in 2008 as F.C. Castiglione Savoia A.S.D., after the merger of Nuova A.C. Marmirolo (with the transfer of its sports title of Eccellenza) of Marmirolo and the local team of A.S.D. Savoia from Terza Categoria Mantova. In the 2009–10 season the club was promoted from the Eccellenza Lombardy to the Serie D. In the summer of 2010 the club changed its name to "F.C. Sterilgarda Castiglione A.S.D.", after the name of their main sponsor, Sterilgarda Foods S.p.A., known dairy company. In the 2011–12 Serie D season, Sterilgarda Castiglione was promoted to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione for the first time. The sponsor, anyway, withdrew its support and the club changed its name to the current one. After two seasons it was relegated back to Serie D, where in 2014–15 it won group B but later announc ...

The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard. The same musicians were featured on Dalla's 1977 album ''Com'è profondo il mare'' (How deep is the sea?). Terza Categoria
The Terza Categoria is the lowest level of amateur football in Italy. It is the ninth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Terza Categoria level progresses to their closest regional league in the Seconda Categoria level. Unlike all the levels above the Terza Categoria, there is no relegation. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a provincial level from the Local and Provincial Committees. It is also the only Italian football division where head coaches are not requested to own any license released by the federation. In theory, this is the final league in Italy from which a team can go all the way and become Serie A champions. Birth of Terza Categoria Because of the birth of the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (Amateur League) in 1959, Seconda Divisione (literally Second Division), was converted into the Terza Categoria (literally Third Category). With the reform of the Lega Pro before the 2014–15 ...

Football Clubs In Lombardy
Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. Unqualified, the word ''football'' normally means the form of football that is the most popular where the word is used. Sports commonly called ''football'' include association football (known as ''soccer'' in North America and Australia); gridiron football (specifically American football or Canadian football); Australian rules football; rugby union and rugby league; and Gaelic football. These various forms of football share to varying extent common origins and are known as "football codes". There are a number of references to traditional, ancient, or prehistoric ball games played in many different parts of the world. Contemporary codes of football can be traced back to the codification of these games at English public schools during the 19th century. The expansion and cultural influence of the British Empire allowed these rules of football to spread to areas of Briti ...
