F.C. Carlow
F.C. Carlow ( ga, Cumann Peile Ceatharlach ) was an Irish association football club based in County Carlow. Between 2009 and 2011 the club played in the A Championship. They also fielded teams in the League of Ireland U20/U19 Division. They were the first and to date so far, the only association football club from County Carlow to play in a senior national level league. During this time, the club also competed in the FAI Cup, the League of Ireland Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup. History South East Development Academy F.C. Carlow developed from the South East Development Academy, a youth football academy that recruited players from Carlow, Wicklow and Wexford. During the mid-2000s the academy entered teams in the Foyle Cup and the Galway Cup, playing against youth teams representing Celtic F.C., Bohemians, Calgary Foothills F.C. and the Republic of Ireland U15s. River Barrow
The Barrow ( ga, An Bhearú) is a river in Ireland. It is one of The Three Sisters; the other two being the River Suir and the River Nore. The Barrow is the longest of the three rivers, and at 192 km (120 mi), the second-longest river in Ireland, behind the River Shannon. Ballon, County Carlow
Ballon () is a village in County Carlow, Ireland. It is located on the N80 road near Carlow town. Amenities Money from "Siopa Glas" on Main Street is channelled back into the village, school garden and to local charities. There is a primary school, Ballon National School, and community hall on the main street. Ballon participates in the Tidy Towns competition. The Ballon Improvement Group also work with the local school especially in the Organic Vegetable Garden and the Wild Habitat project. The village community centre was renovated during 2013 at a cost of €656,000. There is also a grotto opposite the church. Transport Bus Traditionally the village was poorly served by public transport. Since April 2015 the village is served by Bus Éireann route 132 several times a day to Dublin via Tullow and Tallaght. Tullow (; , formerly ''Tulach Ó bhFéidhlim/ Tullowphelim'') is a market town in County Carlow, Ireland. It is located on the River Slaney where the N81 road intersects with the R725. , the population was 4,673. 2010 A Championship Cup
The 2010 A Championship Cup was a one-off cup competition featuring teams that played in the 2010 A Championship. It was also referred to as the Newstalk Cup for sponsorship reasons. It was won by Sporting Fingal A, who defeated Bohemians A in the final. Procedure There were eighteen participating clubs in the 2010 Newstalk Cup; they were divided into four groups - five teams in Pool 2 and Pool 3 and four teams in Pool 1 and Pool 4. All the teams played each other once and the group winners then advanced to the semi-finals. Teams received three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points were awarded for a loss.
