Ezekiel Bazil
Ezekiel Bazil (born 16 November 1965). is a Dominican politician who has served in the House of Assembly of Dominica since 2010. He is the current president of the United Workers' Party. Bazil earned numerous certifications in the insurance industry and worked in Barbados and Antigua. He then moved back to Dominica, where he again worked in insurance and also as a managing director of a local company. Bazil's first venture into politics was to contest the Wesley constituency on the UWP ticket in the 2009 general election. He lost on 18 December 2009 to Gloria Shillingford of the Labour Party, with 734 votes to Shillingford's 809 (47.6% to 52.4%). United Workers' Party (Dominica)
The United Workers' Party is a centrist political party in Dominica. As of the 2022 general election, the party is not represented in the House of Assembly of Dominica, after boycotting the general election. The past Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly is Lennox Linton. The United Workers' Party with less than 34% of the votes was the majority party in Dominica's parliament from 1995 until 2000, led by party co-founder Edison James as Prime Minister of Dominica. The party now has a new leader, Thomson Fontaine who is the current Leader of the Opposition. In the 2014 general elections, the party won 6 seats out of the 21. The House of Assembly is the legislature of Dominica. It is established by Chapter III of the Constitution of Dominica, and together with the President of Dominica constitutes Dominica's Parliament. The House is unicameral, and consists of twenty-one Representatives, nine senators, and the Attorney General as an '' ex officio'' member. The Speaker of the House becomes the thirty-second member if chosen from outside the membership of the House. Representatives are directly elected in single-member constituencies using the simple-majority (or first-past-the-post) system for a term of five years. The Representatives in turn decide whether the senators are to be elected by their vote, or appointed. Barbados

Wesley, Dominica
Wesley () is a village in north-eastern Dominica, situated between the old estates of Eden and Londonderry. Like many other villages along the east coast Wesley developed after Emancipation on hilly land along the boundary between the two estates as labourers sought to establish independent holdings for themselves away from the plantations where they had formerly lived and worked. In the mid 19th century, Charles Leatham, owner of Eden, sold several small lots in this area. His estates had been centres for early evangelization by Wesleyan missionaries and by as early as 1837 religious and night school gatherings were being held in a large estate building on Londonderry estate. Methodist influence grew further when free labourers were introduced into the estates of the north-east from Antigua, Montserrat, and other Leeward Islands to replant the sugar estates in cocoa and limes. Gloria Marilyn Shillingford is a Dominican educator and a politician in the Labour Party. She has served in the House of Assembly of Dominica since 2005. Shillingford graduated from Teikyo-Westmar University with a Bachelor of Arts.. She began working as a teacher in 1979, and eventually became principal of St. Andrews High School.
