Eye-gouging (Gaelic Football)
Eye-gouging is a serious offence in Gaelic games where a player uses hands or fingers to inflict pain in an opponent's eyes. Such incidents are usually referred to as "eye-gouging" among players and in the media. History Colm O'Rourke, a player from the 1970s onwards, wrote this in 2022 for the '' Sunday Independent'': "I was involved in quite a few skirmishes at club level but at that time there were basic rules of engagement. Anyone who kicked, spat or headbutted was fair game for a good hiding, but I had never heard of gouging until it became a problem in rugby". Gaelic Games
Gaelic games ( ga, Cluichí Gaelacha) are a set of sports played worldwide, though they are particularly popular in Ireland, where they originated. They include Gaelic football, hurling, Gaelic handball and rounders. Football and hurling, the most popular of the sports, are both organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Women's versions of hurling and football are also played: camogie, organised by the Camogie Association of Ireland, and ladies' Gaelic football, organised by the Ladies' Gaelic Football Association. While women's versions are not organised by the GAA (with the exception of handball, where men's and women's handball competitions are both organised by the GAA Handball organisation), they are closely associated with it but are still separate organisations. Tomás Ó Sé
Tomás Ó Sé (; born 21 June 1978) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. He played Gaelic football with Nemo Rangers and at senior level for the Kerry county team from 1998 until he retired in 2013, playing predominantly in the half-back line. In one of the most decorated careers in Gaelic Games, Ó Sé won 5 All-Ireland titles, 9 Munster titles and was Footballer of the Year in 2004. His brothers Darragh and Marc are played Gaelic footballer and represented Kerry at the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Paul Galvin (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul Galvin (born 2 November 1979) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Finuge, his divisional side Feale Rangers and for the Kerry county team between 2003 and 2014. Galvin had the honour of being named as the 1000th All Star Award. He also represented Ireland in the 2004 International Rules Series. Galvin writes a weekly fashion column for the ''Irish Independent'' newspaper and presents a show on Radio Kerry. He has also managed the Wexford footballers. Aaron Kernan
Aaron Kernan (born 16th December 1983) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Crossmaglen Rangers club and, formerly, for the Armagh county team. Kernan is the son of former Armagh player and manager Joe Kernan, his brothers Stephen, Tony and Paul were also Crossmaglen and Armagh panel members, and their younger brother Ross played for Crossmaglen also. Kernan runs his own estate agency in his home town of Crossmaglen. Playing career Club Kernan joined the Crossmaglen Rangers senior team in 2001. Senan Connell
Senan Connell is an Irish Gaelic footballer who played for the Na Fianna club on Dublin's Northside and for the Dublin county team. Senan operated in the half forward line for Dublin. He made his debut for Dublin in a national league match in 1998 against Offaly kicking two points. He cemented his place on the team before a cruciate ligament injury forced him to miss the league final versus Cork in 1999. Senan played at half forward in both the 2000 Leinster final loss to Meath and the 2001 Leinster final loss to Kildare under Tommy Carr. Patrick McBrearty (born 5 August 1993) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Cill Chartha and the Donegal county team. He is usually selected in the full-forward line for his county, often flanking Michael Murphy with Colm McFadden (before McFadden's retirement).
