Eyal Ran
Eyal Ran (born 21 November 1972) is an Israeli former professional tennis player and former captain of the Israel Davis Cup team. His career high ATP ranking in singles was 138 (21 April 1997), and in doubles it was 71 (11 October 1999). Early life Ran was born in Qiryat Ono, Israel, and is Jewish. His father emigrated to Israel from Romania. Tennis career Ran trained at Israel Tennis Centers. He turned pro in 1992. In August 1993 he upset Jonas Svensson of Sweden, ranked # 37 in the world, in Long Island, New York, 6–1, 6–3. After playing at the Australian Open in 1996 and 1997 in the singles competition (he lost in the 2nd round both years), Ran played in his first doubles Grand Slam in 1999, reaching the 2nd round at the French Open (he lost in the first round at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open). Qiryat Ono
Kiryat Ono ( he, קִרְיַת אוֹנוֹ) is a city in the Tel Aviv District of Israel. It is located east of Tel Aviv. In it had a population of . Modern Kiryat Ono is not to be confused with the biblical Ono, which was located in the area that is now Or Yehuda. Russia Davis Cup Team
The Russia men's national tennis team until it was suspended in 2022 represented Russia in Davis Cup tennis competition. It is governed by the Russian Tennis Federation. The team started playing in 1993. Russia has won the Davis Cup twice, in 2002 and 2006. In addition, the team of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) won the Davis Cup in 2021. Mikhail Mikhailovich Youzhny (born 25 June 1982), nicknamed "Misha" and "Colonel" by his fans, is a Russian retired professional tennis player who was ranked inside the top 10 and was the Russian No. 1. Igor Konstantinovich Kunitsyn ( rus, И́горь Константи́нович Куни́цын, , ˈiɡərʲ kʊˈnʲitsɨn; born September 30, 1981) is a retired tennis player from Russia. Harel Levy ( he, הראל לוי; born 5 August 1978) is a retired Israeli professional tennis player, and the current captain of Israel's Davis Cup team.
