Expresso Tiradentes
Expresso Tiradentes is the bus rapid transit (BRT) system in São Paulo, Brazil. It is a mid-capacity transportation system that began construction in mid- 1997, under the name of ''Fura-Fila''. During the administration of Mayor Marta Suplicy, in mid- 2001, the name was changed to ''Paulistão''. The current goal of the system is to connect the neighborhood of Sacomã to Parque Dom Pedro II, in order to integrate with other forms of transportation for the residents of the extreme eastern part of the city, mainly Cidade Tiradentes. The stretch between Sacomã and Parque Dom Pedro II and the words Vila Prudente - Parque Dom Pedro II . On April 28, 2009, Mayor Gilberto Kassab and Governor José Serra announced an agreement to amend the project, now to be called ''Metrô Leve Expresso Tiradentes''. Monorail
A monorail (from "mono", meaning "one", and "rail") is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail or a beam. Colloquially, the term "monorail" is often used to describe any form of elevated rail or people mover. José Serra
José Serra Chirico (; born 19 March 1942) is a Brazilian politician who has served as a Congressman, Senator, Minister of Planning, Minister of Health, Mayor of São Paulo, Governor of São Paulo state, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil. Early life José Serra was born in the São Paulo neighbourhood of Mooca to Francesco Serra, an Italian immigrant from Corigliano Calabro, Calabria, and Serafina Chirico, a Brazilian born to Italian parents. Serra comes from a lower middle class family. His father was semi-illiterate and worked as a fruit vendor in a market of São Paulo, but he was able to enroll his only child in college. In the early 1960s, he was a prominent member of the socio-political movement Ação Popular which opposed the conservative political system that existed at the time. Gilberto Kassab ( or ; born 12 August 1960) is a Brazilian politician and former mayor of São Paulo. His term ended in 2012. A civil engineer and economist, one of the most famous Brazilians of Syrian descent, Kassab took over from José Serra, after Serra decided to run for governor of São Paulo. Parque Dom Pedro II
Parque Dom Pedro II (Dom Pedro II Park in English) is a park located in the Sé (district of São Paulo), Sé neighborhood of São Paulo, Brazil. It lies on the border between the Historic Center of São Paulo and the Brás neighborhood. Features The park is crossed by five viaducts and Avenida do Estado, with about half of the green area it originally had when it was inaugurated. Marta Suplicy
Marta Teresa Smith de Vasconcellos Suplicy (; born 18 March 1945) is a Brazilian politician and psychologist. She was Mayor of São Paulo from 2001 to 2004. She later served as the Brazilian Minister of Tourism between 14 March 2007, and 4 June 2008, when she resigned to run again for the mayoralty of São Paulo. In 2015, she left the Brazilian Workers' Party (PT). Suplicy is currently a member of Solidariedade (SD).
