''Expresso'' () is a flagship weekly publication of the Impresa Group for Portugal. History ''Expresso'' was first published on 6 January 1973. The founder was Francisco Pinto Balsemão. The paper is based in Lisbon and is published on a weekly basis. The newspaper is part of the Portuguese company Impresa, which also controls various magazines, including ''Caras'' and '' Visão'', among the others. ''Expresso'' was published in broadsheet format until September 2006 when it switched to Berliner format Berliner, or "midi", is a newspaper format with pages normally measuring about . The Pessoa Prize ( pt, Prémio Pessoa, ), named after Fernando Pessoa, is recognized as the most important award in the area of Portuguese culture. Created in 1987 by the newspaper ''Expresso'' and the IT company Unisys, since 2008 the prize has been sponsored by Caixa Geral de Depósitos. European Newspaper Award
European Newspaper Award is a design competition for European newspapers. The competition was founded and is organized by newspaper designer Norbert Küpper from Meerbusch, Germany. He co-operates with the journalist magazines '' Medium Magazin'' (Frankfurt), '' Der Österreichische Journalist'' (Salzburg), and '' Schweizer Journalist'' (Oberuzwil). The first winners were announced in 1999. In 2013 there were 20 different award categories and the winners would be announced around 15 November. Global Management Challenge
Global Management Challenge (GMC) is a strategic management competition for managers and university students. Participants form teams of 3-5 members, and each team is placed in a group of 5-8 teams, depending the competition. The teams are then given a virtual company, initially identical to every other company in the competition. Each team then develops their company by making a series of decisions relating to every aspect of the business, such as how many machines to buy, or how much to spend on advertising. In each round, five sets of decisions are taken, corresponding to five quarters. A quarter is a period said to span three months. These decisions - made on the Decision Sheet - are run through sophisticated business simulation software, which generates in-depth Management Reports, showing the consequences of the decisions. Fernando Pessoa
Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa (; 13 June 1888 – 30 November 1935) was a Portuguese poet, writer, literary critic, translator, publisher, and philosopher, described as one of the most significant literary figures of the 20th century and one of the greatest poets in the Portuguese language. He also wrote in and translated from English and French. Pessoa was a prolific writer, and not only under his own name, for he created approximately seventy-five others, of which three stand out, Alberto Caeiro, Álvaro de Campos, and Ricardo Reis.
