''Existentia'' is the fifth album by Norwegian gothic metal band Trail of Tears. It was released on January 26 (Europe) and January 30 (USA), 2007. It is the last full-length album recorded with Kjetil Nordhus, Runar Hansen, Kjell Rune Hagen and Jonathan Perez, all of whom left the band in November 2006. Trail Of Tears (band)
Trail of Tears is a Norwegian gothic/ symphonic black metal band originally formed in 1994 by Terje Heiseldal, Kjell Rune Hagen, Jonathan A Perez, Michael Krumins, and Ronny Thorsen, under the name of Natt. Through most of their career the band emphasised the use of contrasting soprano and death grunt vocals, except for the release of ''Free Fall into Fear'' in 2005, in which the band switched this contrast mostly to tenor and growls, with less frequent soprano passages. The band disbanded in 2013, being succeeded by Thorsen's project Viper Solfa. In 2020, they reformed with old and new members, including previous Sirenia vocalist Ailyn. Jonathan Pérez (musician)
Jonathan Alejandro Pérez (born May 1, 1979, Viña del Mar, Chile) is a Chilean drummer who is currently based in Kristiansand, Norway. He is known for his work with the Norwegian gothic metal and symphonic metal bands Trail of Tears (band), Trail of Tears and Sirenia (band), Sirenia. He is currently the drummer of Green Carnation since 2016. Career Pérez's career in music began at the age 17 of in 1996 with Trail of Tears (band), Trail of Tears, a local band. With them he recorded five studio albums and participated in full tours and numerous shows in Europe as well as the first full Mexican tour in June 2003. In 2004, along with Trail of Tears, he was part of the double album tribute to the Australian group Dead Can Dance, entitled ''The Lotus Eaters (Tribute To Dead Can Dance)''. Emmanuelle Zoldan
Emmanuelle Zoldan (born 18 June 1977) is a French opera singer, best known for her work as a session musician in heavy metal bands as Sirenia, Trail of Tears and Turisas, among others. She is currently the vocalist of Sirenia. Career Zoldan is an operatic mezzo-soprano singer. She has combined her musical activities in the most diverse genres, singing in several operas in France for many years and worked simultaneously with some heavy metal bands and other personal projects. Two of her most notable appearances were in Trail of Tears's '' Existentia'' (2007) and Turisas's ''Battle Metal'' (2004), where she was the main female vocalist. On 8 September 2016, Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia announced that Zoldan is their new official vocalist, replacing Spanish singer Ailyn Gimenez. Bloodstained Endurance
''Bloodstained Endurance'' is the sixth studio album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Trail of Tears. It was the first full-length album recorded after Kjetil Nordhus, Runar Hansen, Kjell Rune Hagen and Jonathan Perez left the band in November 2006, forcing frontman Ronny Thorsen to assemble a new band. It is also the first album to feature soprano Cathrine Paulsen since ''A New Dimension of Might'' in 2002. The cover, by Travis Smith, uses the band logo from that album. Napalm Records is an Austrian independent record label focused on heavy metal and hard rock. Trail Of Tears (band) Albums
The Trail of Tears was an ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of approximately 60,000 people of the "Five Civilized Tribes" between 1830 and 1850 by the United States government. As part of the Indian removal, members of the Cherokee, Muscogee (Creek), Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw nations were forcibly removed from their ancestral homelands in the Southeastern United States to newly designated Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River after the passage of the Indian Removal Act in 1830. The Cherokee removal in 1838 (the last forced removal east of the Mississippi) was brought on by the discovery of gold near Dahlonega, Georgia, in 1828, resulting in the Georgia Gold Rush. The relocated peoples suffered from exposure, disease, and starvation while en route to their newly designated Indian reserve.
