Ewout Denys
Ewout Albert Marie-Louise Denijs (born 4 February 1987 in Bruges) is a Belgian professional football player who plays for SK Rapid Leest. He usually plays as an attacking midfielder. Career Denys was plucked away by Cercle Brugge at a young age when he was playing for his home side, SV Ruddervoorde, the same team where Thomas Buffel started his career. He made his début for the first team of Cercle on 9 September 2006 in a 1–2 win against SV Zulte Waregem. He was once in the starting eleven against Lierse. The Belgium national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Belgium and is controlled by the Belgian Football Association. The team competes in the European Under-21 Football Championship, held every two years. Thomas Buffel (, born 19 February 1981) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or forward. He represented the Belgium national team at international level. Club career Early career Buffel began his career with Belgian sides Daring Ruddervoorde and Cercle Brugge before making a move to the Netherlands. Buffel played for the Dutch team Feyenoord in the 1999–2000 season, before moving to their feeder team Excelsior Rotterdam from 2000 to 2002. Koninklijke Lierse Sportkring (), often simply known as Lierse, was a Belgian professional football club from the city of Lier in the Antwerp province. Lierse have won four championship titles and two Belgian Cups. It was founded by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 1909 and folded in 2016, when it was replaced by the Belgian First Division B.
