Ewen Spencer
Ewen Spencer (born 1971) is a British photographer and filmmaker based in Brighton, England. His photography is primarily of youth and subcultures. He began his career working for style, music and culture magazines ''The Face'' and ''Sleazenation'' and has since joined groups of young people and musicians to make personal projects, as well as making films for Massive Attack, The Streets and the Charlatans and undertaking commercial work. His books include ''Open Mic'' (2005), ''UKG'' (2013), ''Young Love'' (2017), and ''While you Were Sleeping'' (2022). Life and work Photography Spencer studied editorial photography under photographers Paul Reas and Mark Power at the School of Art and Design at the University of Brighton. He graduated in 1997. Brighton
Brighton () is a seaside resort and one of the two main areas of the City of Brighton and Hove in the county of East Sussex, England. It is located south of London. Archaeological evidence of settlement in the area dates back to the Bronze Age, Roman and Anglo-Saxon periods. Pete Townshend
Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend (; born 19 May 1945) is an English musician. He is co-founder, leader, guitarist, second lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the Who, one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s and 1970s. Lethal Bizzle
Maxwell Owusu Ansah (born 14 September 1984), known by his stage name Lethal Bizzle, is a British rapper from Walthamstow, London, of Ghanaian origin. He emerged in 2002 as a grime MC as part of More Fire Crew, with their grime single "Oi!" charting in the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. His debut solo single "Pow! (Forward)" attracted attention for its aggressive content, charting at number 11 despite being banned from airplay and clubs. Kano (rapper)
Kaine Brett Robinson (born 21 May 1985), better known as Kano, is a British rapper, songwriter and actor from East Ham, London. A significant contributor to grime music, he is widely considered one of the pioneers of grime music and culture, alongside artists such as Wiley and Dizzee Rascal. DJ Slimzee
Dean Fullman (born 20 June 1978), best known by his stage name DJ Slimzee, is an English DJ who currently hosts a show on Rinse FM, returning from his previous show on NTS. He is best known for his show on pirate radio station Rinse FM in the early noughties and its influential role in the development of grime music. Career DJ Slimzee co-founded Rinse FM in 1994. For a three-year period in the early days of the station, the Rinse studio was hosted in DJ Slimzee's house. From the late 1990s, Slimzee was one of the first DJs to start introducing the dark new music coming out of the UK garage scene into his sets and throughout the early 2000s, he hosted a Sunday afternoon grime show which would regularly showcase some of the genre's best MCs. Jason Evans (born 1968) is a Welsh photographer and lecturer on photography. His best known work is ''Strictly'', a series of portraits of young black men dressed as "country gents" made in collaboration with stylist Simon Foxton, and which were acquired for the permanent collection of the Tate Gallery, in 2004. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition.
