Evgeny Ustyugov
Evgeny Romanovich Ustyugov (russian: Евгений Романович Устюгов; born 4 June 1985) is a Russian former biathlete. Born to cross-country skiers, Ustyugov was introduced to biathlon at the age of three. He started his career in junior tournaments in 2005, before going professional three years later in the European Championships. He is an Olympic champion in the men's 15 km mass start event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Prior to the 2010 Olympic Games, his best World Championship finish in an individual event was 20th place. Together with Anton Shipulin, Alexey Volkov and Dmitry Malyshko he won the gold medal in the men's relay at the 2014 Winter Olympics, in Sochi, Russia. After the end of the 2013–14 World Cup, Ustyugov announced his retirement. Krasnoyarsk ( ; rus, Красноя́рск, a=Ru-Красноярск2.ogg, p=krəsnɐˈjarsk) (in semantic translation - Red Ravine City) is the largest city and administrative center of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. Biathlon At The 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's Relay
The men's relay competition of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was held at Whistler Olympic Park in Whistler, British Columbia on February 26, 2010. The race consisted of four laps of cross-country skiing, each lap a total of 7.5 km. Every 2.5 km there would be a shooting zone, the first one is prone and the second one is standing. Any misses in the shooting zones count as penalties which must be completed by going around a penalty loop right after the second shooting zone. There were four racers per team, each completing one lap. As all the teams started together, the team that crossed the finish line first would win. Results The race started at 11:30. Dmitry Vladimirovich Malyshko (russian: Дмитрий Владимирович Малышко; born 19 March 1987) is a Russian biathlete, who has been competing on the World Cup circuit since the 2011–12 season. Anton Vladimirovich Shipulin (russian: Антон Владимирович Шипулин; born 21 August 1987) is a retired Russian biathlete and politician serving as the member of the State Duma since 2019. Sport career Absolute champion of European Biathlon Championship 2008 (juniors), he was the best Russian biathlon marksman in the same season (2009/2010). Shipulin won the bronze medal as part of the Russian men's relay team at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. Biathlon Junior World Championships were first held in 1967 for men and in 1984 for women. According to the International Biathlon Union rules, biathletes qualify as Junior if they turn 20, 21 or 22 during the season from November to October, they qualify as Youth when they turn 17, 18 or 19 during the season. History The first venue was Altenberg (then East Germany). The age limit of the participating athletes is 20 years.
