EventCity
EventCity Limited was a conference, gala dinner and exhibition venue in Greater Manchester, England. It opened in 2011 and was the largest event venue in the North of England, with four halls and a combined space of . It was closed during 2021 as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The plans for an alternative venue were also scrapped by the previous owners. EventCity was located in TraffordCity, an entertainment and leisure destination. Adjacent to the Trafford Centre, junctions 9 and 10 of the M60 motorway and the Barton Dock Road tram stop are close by. History The building was built in 1995 as a factory for Manchester Tobacco. Peel Group subsequently acquired the building from them and leased it to the retailer Argos who used the building as a warehouse. Barton Dock Road Tram Stop
Barton Dock Road is a tram stop built on the Trafford Park Line of Greater Manchester's Metrolink light rail system. The stop is located on Barton Dock Road by the remodelled Peel Circle roundabout, and was created to serve passengers boarding and alighting at EventCity and the Trafford Centre. Therme Manchester is a spa and water park resort under construction in Greater Manchester, England. As of 2023, it is scheduled to open in 2025, and is being built on the former site of the EventCity exhibition centre, adjacent to the Trafford Centre. Trafford Park
Trafford Park is an area of the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, opposite Salford Quays on the southern side of the Manchester Ship Canal, southwest of Manchester city centre and north of Stretford. Until the late 19th century, it was the ancestral home of the Trafford family, who sold it to financier Ernest Terah Hooley in 1896. M60 Motorway (Great Britain)
The M60 motorway, Manchester Ring Motorway or Manchester Outer Ring Road is an orbital motorway in North West England. Built over a 40-year period, it passes through most of Greater Manchester's metropolitan boroughs except for Wigan and Bolton.
