''Evening Magazine'' is the name of various news and entertainment-style local television shows in different markets. Concept On August 9, 1976, Westinghouse (Group W) Broadcasting-owned KPIX in San Francisco debuted a locally-produced magazine program called ''Evening: The MTWTF Show'', changing the name to ''Evening Magazine'' within a few years. The award-winning series ran for 14 years. It was also the first non-primetime series to be shot entirely on videotape. The series dealt with lifestyles, leisure time, pop culture, famous people, fascinating places, consumer tips and information about modern city living. KPIX's ''Evening Magazine'' was first hosted by San Francisco radio personality Jan Yanehiro, journalist Steve Fox and Detroit news anchor and reporter Erik Smith. Westinghouse Broadcasting
The Westinghouse Broadcasting Company, also known as Group W, was the broadcasting division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. It owned several radio and television stations across the United States and distributed television shows for syndication. Westinghouse Broadcasting was formed in the 1920 as Westinghouse Radio Stations, Inc. It was renamed Westinghouse Broadcasting Company in 1954, and adopted the ''Group W'' moniker on May 20, 1963. It was a self-contained entity within the Westinghouse corporate structure; while the parent company was headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Westinghouse Broadcasting maintained headquarters in New York City. It kept national sales offices in Chicago and Los Angeles. Group W stations are best known for using a distinctive corporate typeface, introduced in 1963, for their logos and on-air imaging. KIRO-TV
KIRO-TV (channel 7) is a television station in Seattle, Washington, United States, affiliated with CBS and Telemundo. Owned by Cox Media Group, the station maintains studios on Third Avenue in the Belltown section of Downtown Seattle, and its transmitter is located in the city's Queen Anne neighborhood, adjacent to the station's original studios. Barry Nolan
Barry Nolan (born June 17, 1947) is an American former presenter on Comcast Cable's CN8 channel, once hosting the shows '' Nitebeat,'' ''Backstage'', and ''Backstage with Barry Nolan''. He is a panelist on ''Says You!'', a weekend radio word quiz show produced by Pipit and Finch and carried on many public radio stations. Following the death of the program's creator and original host Richard Sher in 2015, Nolan became the program's second host until rejoining the panel in 2017. Sara Edwards is a freelance reporter, producer, film critic and media consultant who owns Sara Edwards Media, currently based in San Marino, California. She was previously based in Boston, Massachusetts where she was an entertainment and features reporter and film critic from 1981-2009. Edwards grew up in San Marino, California where she graduated from San Marino High School in 1970. She later attended UCLA where she studied television and film and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Maria Owings Shriver (born November 6, 1955) is an American journalist, author, a member of the Kennedy family, former First Lady of California, and the founder of the nonprofit organization The Women's Alzheimer's Movement.
