Eva Eriksson (illustrator)
Eva Eriksson, born on 13 May 1949 in Halmstad, Sweden is a Swedish illustrator and writer. She has illustrated several children's books by writers including Barbro Lindgren and Viveca Lärn. Some of her illustrated books have also been translated into the English language by Gecko Press and other publishers. She educated herself at Konstfack in Stockholm. Between 2003-2012 she held seat number 1 of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. Ottilia Adelborg
Eva Ottilia Adelborg (6 December 1855 – 19 March 1936) was a Swedish children's book illustrator, comics artist and author and the founder of a school for lace making. A literary award, the Ottilia Adelborg Prize, was established in her honor in 2000, and there is an Ottilia Adelborg Museum in the municipality of Gagnef. Family and education She was born in Karlskrona, Sweden, the daughter of Bror Jacob Adelborg and Hedvig Catharina af Uhr. She was the granddaughter of Erik Otto Borgh (1741–1787), a Swedish Army captain who was ennobled under the family name Adelborg by King Gustavus III of Sweden. Her sister Gertrud was a women's rights activist, while her sister, Maria Adelborg, also became an artist. She showed early talent for drawing and studied at the Royal Academy of Art (1878–1884), and she later furthered her art education with trips to the Netherlands (1898) and Italy (1901) as well as France. Ulf Stark
Ulf Gottfrid Stark (12 July 1944 – 13 June 2017) was a Swedish author and screenwriter (he adapted several of his own books for film and wrote the screenplay for the 1999 film ''Tsatsiki, morsan och polisen''). Stark has collaborated with the illustrators Anna Höglund and Mati Lepp. From 1989 to 1998 he was an elected member of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. In 1998 he received the Nordic Children's Book Prize. Career Stark was born and grew up in Stureby, Stockholm Municipality, which place features in several of his books. Stark's interest in writing started early; during his time at secondary school he was introduced to writing by his classmate , and in 1964 he wrote his first poetry collection, '. Following this, Stark's interest in writing for a career was greatly encouraged. Stark died on 13 June 2017 at the age of 72 after suffering from cancer. Ulf Lennart Nilsson (18 September 1948 – 22 September 2021) was a Swedish writer who published more than 100 books and picture books, geared mainly to children and adolescents. He was also the longtime president of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. A number of his works have been translated into English by Gecko Press. Nilsson died on 22 September 2021, at the age of 73.
