Euroway
Euroway was a Swedish ferry company that operated cruise ferries between Sweden and Germany from 1992 till 1994. History Founded by the Norwegian businessman, Elling Ellingsen, owner of Sea-Link Shipping AB, with the objective to set up cruiseferry connections between the cities of Malmö in Sweden and Lübeck in Germany. Euroway's business concept was to provide a cruise ship-style experience. Euroway planned to open their service in mid-1991, however the first of two large car and passenger ferries ordered from the Brodogradiliste Split shipyard in Croatia, was delayed because of the Yugoslav wars. The first ship, M/S ''Frans Suell'', was not delivered until May 1992. The start was troublesome; it was for a long time unclear when scheduled traffic would begin and marketing was poorly executed. MS ''Gabriella'' is a cruiseferry sailing on a route connecting Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden for Viking Line. She was built in 1992 in Brodosplit, Croatia as ''Frans Suell'' for service with Euroway. Between 1994 and 1997 she sailed as ''Silja Scandinavia'' for Silja Line. ''Gabriella'' has sister ships ''Amorella'' in Viking Line fleet, ''Isabelle'' operated by Tallink, and a third one, ''Crown Seaways'', operated by DFDS Seaways. Concept and construction Euroway was a concept developed during the latter half of the 1980s by the Sweden-based Sea-Link Shipping. The new brand was planned to operate two state-of-the-art cruiseferries between Malmö in Sweden and Lübeck in Germany via Travemünde in Germany, with the service aimed in particular at conference groups. Sea-link decided to order the ships from Brodosplit in Croatia, which at that time still was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. ''Mega Andrea'' is a cruiseferry owned and operated by Corsica Ferries Sardinia Ferries. She was formerly owned and operated by the Estonia-based Tallink as the MS ''Silja Festival'', and used on their route connecting Riga, Latvia to Stockholm, Sweden. She was built in 1986 by Wärtsilä Helsinki Shipyard, Finland, for Effoa as MS ''Wellamo'' for use on Silja Line traffic. She was rebuilt in 1992 at Lloyds Werft, Bremerhaven, Germany as ''Silja Festival''. In 2008 the ship was transferred from the Silja Line fleet to that of Tallink, but she retained her Silja-prefixed name. After being replaced by MS Isabelle on the Stockholm-Riga route in May 2013 she was chartered as an accommodation ship to Kitimat, British Columbia. MS ''Crown Seaways'' is a cruiseferry operated by DFDS Seaways on a route connecting Copenhagen & Frederikshavn in Denmark to Oslo, Norway. The ship was built in 1994 by Brodosplit in Split, Croatia. She was originally ordered by Euroway and was to be called ''Frans Kockum'' but never sailed under that name. The ship was also temporarily renamed ''Thomas Mann'' during construction. She first sailed under the name ''Crown of Scandinavia''. ''Crown Seaways'' has three sister ships: ''Amorella'' and ''Gabriella'' in the Viking Line fleet and ''Isabelle'' in the Tallink fleet. Silja Line
Silja Line is a Swedish-Finnish cruiseferry brand operated by the Estonian ferry company AS Tallink Grupp, for car, cargo and passenger traffic between Finland and Sweden. The former company Silja Oy—today Tallink Silja Oy—is a subsidiary of the Tallink Grupp, handling marketing and sales for ''Tallink'' and ''Silja Line'' brands in Finland as well as managing Tallink Silja's ship employees. Another subsidiary, Tallink Silja AB, handles marketing and sales in Sweden. Strategical corporate management is performed by Tallink Grupp which also own the ships. ''Moby Orli'' is a cruiseferry owned by Moby SPA. Until September 2010, she was known as ''Pride of Bilbao'', operated by P&O Ferries on their Portsmouth–Bilbao route. The vessel was built in 1986 as ''Olympia'' at the Wärtsilä Perno Shipyard in Turku, Finland for Rederi AB Slite, Sweden for use in Viking Line traffic.
