Eurovision Song Contest 2001
The Eurovision Song Contest 2001 was the 46th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song " Fly on the Wings of Love" by Olsen Brothers. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), the contest was held at the Parken Stadium on 12 May 2001. The contest was presented by Danish television presenter Natasja Crone Back and actor Søren Pilmark. Twenty-three countries took part in the contest. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, and Slovenia returned after their relegation from the previous edition. Greece also returned after their two-year absence, following financial trouble. Meanwhile, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Macedonia, Romania, and Switzerland were relegated. Natasja Crone Back
Natasja Crone Back (born 12 June 1970) is a Danish journalist and TV show presenter. She is well known from several big shows on Danish television. Early life and career Crone was raised in Holte north of Copenhagen and is of Danish and Belorussian-Jewish parentage. 8 In 1996 she finished journalist school. During her studies, she was involved in the debating programme '' Planet Danmark''. She did the practical part of her studies at the newspaper ''Berlingske Tidende''. After her studies Back became a journalist for Danmarks Radio (DR). She hosted a sports programme from 1998 to 2000. In 2000 she started working at DR's Light Entertainment Division. Today, she is attached to DR Event, a division catering to major events ranging from award shows to elections. Greece In The Eurovision Song Contest
Greece has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 42 times since its debut in , missing six contests in that time (1975, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1999 and 2000). Soul Militia (known until 2002 as 2XL) is an Estonian hip-hop act, internationally most notable for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 as backing singers for Tanel Padar and Dave Benton, with the song "Everybody", which they had also covered on their own in concert.
