European Youths' Team Championship
The European Youths' Team Championship was a European amateur team golf championship for men under 22 organized by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1961. It was played every year until 1982, then every second year. It was discontinued in 2006. An amateur () is generally considered a person who pursues an avocation independent from their source of income. Amateurs and their pursuits are also described as popular, informal, autodidacticism, self-taught, user-generated, do it yourself, DIY, and hobbyist. Peter Lawrie
Peter Lawrie (born 22 March 1974) is an Irish professional golfer. Early life Lawrie was born in Dublin and educated at Terenure College and University College Dublin, where he took up a golf scholarship. He won the 1996 Irish Amateur Close Championship and turned professional in 1997. Professional career It took him several years to get a card on the European Tour. He finished fourth on the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2002, including a victory in the Challenge Tour Grand Final. This earned him a European Tour card for the first time. Lawrie credited much of this success to the help of swing coach, Brendan McDaid. Lawrie had a solid debut season on the European Tour 2003 season and also became the first Irishman to be named the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Colin Montgomerie
Colin Stuart Montgomerie, Order of the British Empire, OBE (born 23 June 1963) is a Scotland, Scottish professional golfer. He has won a record eight European Tour PGA European Tour#Order of Merit winners, Order of Merit titles, including a streak of seven consecutively from 1993 to 1999. He has won 31 European Tour events, the most of any British player, placing him fourth on the List of golfers with most European Tour wins, all-time list of golfers with most European Tour victories. Massimo Scarpa
Massimo Scarpa (born 5 June 1970) is an Italian professional golfer. Scarpa was born in Venice and turned professional at the end of 1992 having won the European Amateur. He played on the European Tour and the second tier Challenge Tour between 1993 and 2006. He won once on the European Tour and twice on the Challenge Tour. He also won the Italian National Omnium three times in four years between 1998 and 2001. He played on the Italian team in the 1999 Alfred Dunhill Cup at St Andrews, beating three-time major champion Payne Stewart in the second round less than a month before Stewart's death. Michele Reale
Michele Reale (born 14 June 1971) is an Italian professional golfer. Reale was born in Biella, Piedmont. Having won the Italian Under 20 Championship as an amateur in 1991, he turned professional the following year. Reale played in three tournaments on the second tier European Challenge Tour in 1992, before making his first attempt at qualifying for the top level European Tour. He got through to the final stage of qualifying school, but had to settle for a place on the second tier for 1993. He failed to graduate through qualifying school in each of the next four years, but his performances on the Challenge Tour steadily improved, culminating in 1997 when he won twice on his way to the top of the rankings, and a place on the European Tour for 1998. Massimo Florioli (born 14 February 1972) is an Italian professional golfer. He represented Italy in the 1997 and 1998 World Cup. In the 1998 tournament Florioli and his teammate, Costantino Rocca, finished second, two strokes behind England, recording the best performance by an Italian pair in the event at that time. Emanuele Canonica (born 7 January 1971) is an Italian professional golfer. Early years and amateur career Canonica was born at Moncalieri in the province of Turin in the Piedmont region. He won the Italian National Juniors Championship in 1990 and was part of the gold medal winning Italian team at the European Youths' Team Championship that year. Rikard Strångert
Rikard Strångert (born 23 April 1972) is a Swedish professional golfer, who was one of Sweden 's leading amateur golfers in the early 1990s. He was part of the team winning the 1992 European Youths' Team Championship and member of the Swedish team, finishing fifth, at the 1992 Eisenhower Trophy. As a professional he was runner-up at the 1993 Toyota PGA Championship on the Challenge Tour. Peter Malmgren
Peter Malmgren (born 21 January 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. He played mainly on the Challenge Tour and the Nordic Golf League, where he topped the 2004 Order of Merit. As an amateur, he won the 1992 European Youths' Team Championship. Early life and amateur career Malmgren was born in Malmö and grew up in nearby Falsterbo in Vellinge Municipality. Mikael Lundberg
Lars Mikael Lundberg (born 13 August 1973) is a Swedish professional golfer. He has won three times on the European Tour. Early life and amateur career Lundberg was born in Helsingborg, Sweden. He represented Sweden in the 1994 Eisenhower Trophy. Professional career Lundberg turned professional in 1995. He spent several years on the developmental Challenge Tour, where he was victorious in the 1997 Himmerland Open, and won a place on the main European Tour via a fourth-place finish on the 2000 Challenge Tour Rankings. Niclas Fasth
Niclas Fasth (born 29 April 1972) is a Sweden, Swedish professional golfer. Early life Fasth was born in Gothenburg. In 1982, when he was 10 years old, his parents bought a summer house close to Lysegården Golf Club in Kungälv, north of Gothenburg. His family, with father Kristher, mother Inga-Lill and younger sister Jessica, used to spend their summers there and began playing golf. With a lot of friends also playing the game, young Fasth was always at the golf course, practiced a lot and showed early talent. Beside golf, Fasth practiced other sports and during winter time also showed talent in ice hockey.
