European Space Technology Platform
The European Space Technology Platform (ESTP) is a European Seventh Framework Programme initiative to improve the competitive situation of the European Union in the field of space technology. It continues to work during Horizon 2020 (2014–2020). The programme is a joint initiative ( Public-Private Partnership) of the European Commission, representing the European Communities, and the industry. The Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development, also called Framework Programmes or abbreviated FP1 to FP9, are funding programmes created by the European Union/European Commission to support and foster research in the European Research Area (ERA). European Commission
The European Commission (EC) is the executive of the European Union (EU). It operates as a cabinet government, with 27 members of the Commission (informally known as "Commissioners") headed by a President. It includes an administrative body of about 32,000 European civil servants. Galileo is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that went live in 2016, created by the European Union through the European Space Agency (ESA), operated by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, with two ground operations centres in Fucino, Italy, and Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
