BC Cherno More Ticha Varna ( bg, БК Черно море Тича Варна) is a Bulgarian basketball team based in Varna. The last time Cherno More won the championship was in 1999. The National Basketball League (NBL) (in Bulgarian: Националната баскетболна лига) is the highest professional basketball league in Bulgaria. The current league was founded in 2008, though the first-tier level existed since 1942 and was previously called the Bulgarian A Division. The games in the NBL are played under FIBA rules. Georgi Nikolov Glouchkov (alternate spelling: Gueorgui) ( bg, Георги Николов Глушков; born January 10, 1960 in Tryavna) is a Bulgarian former professional basketball player and president of Bulgarian Basketball Federation. A 6 ft 8 in (204 cm) forward, he was the first player from an Eastern bloc country to compete in the American National Basketball Association (NBA). Professional career Glouchkov began playing with Bulgaria's national team as a teenager. After one successful season with the Luskov Yambol junior side, he got promoted to their senior side by his junior coach Simeon Varchev. Palace of Culture and Sports ( bg, Дворец на културата и спорта) is an indoor complex for culture and sport located in Varna, Bulgaria. The complex has three sports halls - "Kongresna Hall", "Mladost Hall" and "Hall 20". The Palace of Culture and Sports was completed in 1968. A complete copy of the "Palace of Culture and Sports" exists in Africa - this is the "National Arts Theatre", Iganmu, in Lagos, Nigeria. The building was designed by the same architect - Stefan Kolchev. Kongresna Hall Kongresna Hall is currently home of the Bulgaria national volleyball team and basketball team Cherno More Port. The 2015 Bulgarian Basketball Cup was the 61nd edition of the annual cup tournament in Bulgaria.It is managed by the Bulgarian Basketball Federation and was held in Pleven, in the Balkanstory Hall on February 19–22, 2015. Cherno More Port Varna won their 4th cup. Stanimir Marinov was named MVP.
