Euroconsumers: Consumer Organization in Europe, previously known as Conseur - European Consumers, is a private independent multinational corporation, based in Luxembourg, that works in Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Luxembourg and Brazil, representing 1.5 million households. The main objectives of Euroconsumers are to promote and defend consumer interests, such as freedom of choice, access to information, education and justice, and right to health, safety and a healthy environment. Euroconsumers is an umbrella for a number of national consumer organizations, co-ordinating their actions at a European level with regard to customers of airlines, nutritional information on food packaging, technology, and social media. ''Le Soir'' (, "The Evening") is a French-language Belgian daily newspaper. Founded in 1887 by Emile Rossel, it was intended as a politically independent source of news. It is one of the most popular Francophone newspapers in Belgium, competing with ''La Libre Belgique'', and since 2005 has appeared in Berliner format. It is owned by Rossel & Cie, which also owns several Belgian news outlets and the French paper '' La Voix du Nord''. History and profile ''Le Soir'' was founded as a free advertising newspaper in 1887. Later it became a paying paper. Test Aankoop (Dutch) or Test Achats (French) is a Belgian non-profit consumer organization which promotes consumer protection. It was founded in 1957 and publishes research in a subscription magazine. History Test Achats was founded by Louis Darms in November 1957 as the ''Association des Consommateurs'' (French) / ''Verbruikersunie'' (Dutch). In 1960 it was one of the founders of the organization now called Consumers International. Test Achats is a founding member of International Consumer Research & Testing. In 1987 Test Achats formed partnerships with three other consumer organizations with the intention of coordination comparative product testing in each country. Consumers International is the membership organization for consumer groups around the world. Founded on 1 April 1960, it has over 250 member organizations in 120 countries. Its head office is situated in London, England, and has numerous regional offices in Latin America, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Consumers International is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. The European Consumer Organisation
The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC (), from the French name ''Bureau Européen des Unions de Consommateurs'', "European Bureau of Consumers' Unions") is an umbrella consumers' group, founded in 1962. Based in Brussels, Belgium, it brings together 45 European consumer organisations from 32 countries ( EU, EEA and applicant countries). BEUC represents its members and defends the interests of consumers in the decision process of the Institutions of the European Union, acting as the "consumer voice in Europe". BEUC does not deal with consumers’ complaints as it is the role of its national member organisations.
