Eunetta T. Boone
Eunetta T. Boone ( – March 20, 2019) was an American television writer and producer. She was the creator and writer of several television series and, at the time of her death, she was serving as the executive producer and showrunner for the third season of the Disney Channel series ''Raven's Home''. Life and career Boone was born in Washington, D.C. Her parents ensured that she and her sister were raised "culturally enriched". Boone graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University. She was a sports reporter for the evening edition of ''The Baltimore Sun'', the first African American woman to hold the position at the newspaper. In 1990, Boone made the career change from sportswriting when she took a screenwriting workshop offered by the Maryland Film Commission. A showrunner (or colloquially a helmer) is the top-level executive producer of a television series production who has creative and management authority through combining the responsibilities of employer and, in comedy or dramas, typically also the head writer, script and story editor. They consult with network and studio bosses and lead the artistic vision of the show, including the writers room, editing department, as well as select the set design, staff, cast members, and each actor's wardrobe and hairstyle. In many instances, the showrunner also created the show, and subsequent seasons could feature different showrunners. ''One on One'' is an American sitcom that aired on UPN from September 3, 2001, to May 15, 2006. The series stars Flex Alexander as a single sportscaster, who becomes a full-time father when his ex-wife decides to accept a job out of the country and his teenage daughter Breanna ( Kyla Pratt) moves in with him. The series was set in Baltimore for the first four seasons, before changing settings to Los Angeles for the final season.
