Eucalyptus × Urnularis
''Eucalyptus urnularis'' is a species of small tree that is endemic to the Northern Territory. It typically grows to a height of and has rough, flaky brownish bark on the trunk, smooth grey bark above. The adult leaves are arranged alternately, the same shade of green on both sides, broadly lance-shaped to curved, long and wide on a petiole long. The flower buds are arranged in leaf axils in groups of seven on an unbranched peduncle long, the individual buds on pedicels long. The fruit is an urn-shaped capsule long and wide. Maisie Carr (''née'' Fawcett; 1912–1988) was an innovative Australian ecologist and botanist who contributed much to the understanding of the uniqueness of Australian plants and their environmental systems. Foundation years Maisie Carr was born Stella Grace Maisie Fawcett in Footscray, Melbourne. Neither of her parents had a science background but her love of plants was likely fostered by visits to nearby salt-marshes, her grandmother's garden and in nature study classes. Carr attended Footscray's Hyde Street State School where she was first in her class and Dux in 1924 and then attended Melbourne High School. George Chippendale
George Chippendale (18 April 1921 – 16 February 2010) was an Australian botanist and a strong proponent of growing Australian Native plants. As well as a career in botany, he also taught his love of botany to all who would listen through talks to children, special interest groups, walks on Canberra'a Black Mountain and more recently through the U3A (University of the Third Age), both in class and online. He knew the value of planting local native plants in gardens as they would survive local conditions and save water. Chippendale was born in Sydney, Australia, the eldest of six, and grew up in the Sydney suburb of Paddington. He left school at 14.
