Estadio Rubén Marcos Peralta, formerly known as Parque Schott, is a football stadium in Osorno, Chile, home to club Provincial Osorno. It was built in 1940 and has a capacity of 10,000. It contains wood stands, and over eighty percent of the stands are roof-covered. In August 2006, a major renovation took place, and the pitch cover was switched from natural to artificial grass. In November 2006 it was re-inaugurated under its current official name, which honors the former local football legend Rubén Marcos Peralta, who played in Universidad de Chile and Chil National Team in the 1960s. Osorno (Mapuche: Chauracavi) is a city and commune in southern Chile and capital of Osorno Province in the Los Lagos Region. It had a population of 145,475, as of the 2002 census. Artificial Turf
Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass. However, it is now being used on residential lawns and commercial applications as well. Provincial Osorno is a football club based in Osorno, Los Lagos Region, Chile. The club is currently playing at the fourth tier of the Chilean football system, the Tercera División. The club were founded on 5 June 1983 and then re-founded on 3 December 2012. Between 1993 and 1998, a period of 6 years, they were continuously members of Chile's top division although they never finished higher than sixth. Until 2009 the club also operated a basketball professional team, ''Provincial Osorno Basquetbol'', They played in the Chilean Basketball Professional League.
