Estadio Capitán San Luis
Estadio Capitán San Luis is a multi-use stadium in Pinar del Río, Cuba. History Inaugurated the 19 of January 1969, the stadium has a capacity of 8,000 spectators. The stadium is mostly used for baseball games and is the home of the Pinar del Rio Baseball team. Previously, it was the home of Vegueros and Forestales baseball teams and Pinar del Rio, a football team. The football team's home field is now "La Bombonera" in San Cristóbal. Pinar del Río is the capital city of Pinar del Río Province, Cuba. With a population of 139,336 (2004) in a municipality of 190,332, it is the List of cities in Cuba, 10th-largest city in Cuba. Inhabitants of the area are called ''Pinareños''. History Pinar del Río was one of the last major cities in Cuba founded by the Spanish, on September 10, 1867. Vegueros De Pinar Del Río
Vegueros de Pinar del Río (English: Pinar del Río Meadow Growers) is a baseball team in the Cuban National Series. Based in the western city of Pinar del Río, the ''Vegueros'' are historically one of the more successful teams in the Cuban National Series, winning championships in 1997, 1998, 2011, 2015. History Prior to the 1992-93 Cuban National Series, two teams competed in the province of Pinar del Río: Forestales (also known as Pinar del Río during some seasons) and Vegueros. Vegueros was a bona fide powerhouse, winning the championship in 1978, 1981, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988. A 1992–1993 contraction of the league, in which eight teams were eliminated, caused Vegueros and Forestales to be combined into a single team. In 2015, Pinar del Río won the Caribbean Series, becoming the first Cuban winner since 1960.
