Experience Estabrook (April 30, 1813 March 26, 1894) was an American attorney and legal administrator. He was the 3rd Attorney General of Wisconsin and the 1st United States Attorney for the Nebraska Territory. Biography Born in Lebanon, New Hampshire, he moved with his parents to Clarence, New York, in 1822 where he attended the public schools. Estabrook then attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania Law School, and then was admitted to the bar in Brooklyn, New York in 1839. He worked as a clerk at the Navy Yard in Brooklyn and later practiced law in Buffalo, New York. In 1840, he moved to Geneva, Wisconsin in 1840 and continued the practice of law. Howard Estabrook (born Howard Bolles, July 11, 1884 – July 16, 1978) was an American actor, film director and producer, and screenwriter. Biography Born Howard Bolles in Detroit, Michigan, Howard Estabrook began his career in 1904 as a stage actor in New York. He made his film debut in 1914 during the silent era, and would go on to appear in several features including '' Four Feathers''. Estabrook left films in 1916 for a try at the business world, but returned in 1921. Estabrook took on executive positions with various studios, and eventually began producing films in 1924. He soon found his calling in screenwriting. ''The Moving Target'' is a detective novel by writer Ross Macdonald, first published by Alfred A. Knopf in April 1949. The novel ''The Moving Target'' introduces the detective Lew Archer, who was eventually to figure in a further seventeen novels. Up to this point Macdonald had been writing under the name Kenneth Millar, but adopted the pseudonym John Macdonald for this one.
