Al Mokawloon Al Arab Sporting Club ( ar, نادي المقاولون العرب الرياضي), shortly known as El Mokawloon (The contractors) locally, is an Egyptian sports club based in Nasr City, Cairo, and owned by the prominent constructional engineer Osman Ahmed Osman. The club was founded in 1973 by the Egyptian engineer, contractor, entrepreneur, and politician Osman Ahmed Osman as the official sporting club for his prominent, regional construction company, the Arab Contractors, arguably the biggest one in the entire Middle East at that time. The 1997 Afro-Asian Club Championship, was the 10th Afro-Asian Club Championship competition endorsed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), contested between the winners of the African Champions' Cup and the Asian Club Championship. The Afro-Asian Club Championship, sometimes referred to as the Afro-Asian Cup, was a football competition endorsed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), contested between the winners of the African Champions' Cup and the Asian Club Championship, the two continents' top club competitions. The 1997 CAF Super Cup was the fifth CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the African Cup of Champions Clubs and the African Cup Winners' Cup. The match took place on 14 February 1997, at Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, between Egyptian clubs Zamalek, the 1996 African Cup of Champions Clubs winner, and Al Mokawloon Al Arab, the 1996 African Cup Winners' Cup winner.
