Esme Hester Johanna Kruger (born 29 November 1971) is a South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career She was born in Pretoria, South Africa and was selected as part of the South African team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland where she claimed a silver medal in the Fours with Elma Davis, Johanna Snyman and Nicolene Neal. She won the 2018 singles title at the South African National Bowls Championships bowling for the Christian Brothers Collage Old Boys (CBCOB) Bowls Club. This was her second title after previously winning the fours in 2012. In 2019, she won the fours silver medal and triples bronze medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and in 2020 she was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia. 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was to be the 14th edition of the World Championships to be held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. There were to be eight events that determined the 2021 world champions, the men's singles, doubles, triples and fours and the women's singles, doubles, triples and fours and in addition there are two overall team winners who receive the Leonard and Taylor trophies respectively. It was originally scheduled from 23 May to 7 June 2020 but the event was officially cancelled on 9 March 2021. Postponement The event followed suit of other sporting events around the world in early 2020, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak wreaking havoc across the sporting industry. Bridget Calitz (born 3 September 1997) is a South African international lawn bowler. She has represented South Africa at the Commonwealth Games and won a silver medal. Biography Calitz started bowling in 2011 and in 2019, she finished runner up in the singles at the South African National Bowls Championships.
