Esko Aho's Cabinet
The cabinet of Esko Aho was the 65th government of Finland. The cabinet existed from 26 April 1991 to 13 April 1995. The cabinet’s Prime Minister was Esko Aho. The Aho Government started its term when Finland was in the midst of its history’s worst economic downfall and a banking crisis. In 1991, the failed coup in Moscow ended the Soviet Union and the Aho cabinet terminated the Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance. Finland joined the European Union in 1995 following the 1994 referendum. Elisabeth Rehn
Märta Elisabeth Rehn (; born 6 April 1935) is a Finnish former politician and diplomat. She served as the Minister of Defence of Finland during 1990 to 1995 and as an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations during 1998 to 1999. She was also a member of the Finnish Parliament and parliamentary leader of the Swedish People's Party of Finland, and a member of the European Parliament. Anneli Tuulikki Jäätteenmäki (born 11 February 1955) is a Finnish politician who was the first female Prime Minister of Finland from 17 April 2003 to 24 June 2003. Toimi Olavi Kankaanniemi (born 26 February 1950) is a Finland, Finnish politician, born in Sastamala, Tyrvää. Kankaanniemi was the Chairman of the Finnish Christian Democrats (Finland), Christian Democrats from 1989 to 1995. Paavo Matti Väyrynen (born 2 September 1946) is a Finnish politician and former member of the Finnish Parliament who has represented the Seven Star Movement, the Citizen's Party and Centre Party.
