Erode–Palani Line
The Erode–Kangeyam-Dharapuram-Palani line is a proposed railway line from Erode Junction (via) Kangeyam, Dharapuram to Palani in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a part of Southern Railway zone of Indian Railways. This line upon construction will improve rail connectivity of the Pilgrimage center with Chennai and other states of the country. It was a revised version of the original pre-independence proposal by the British. History The revived proposal was initially prepared way back in 1915 to link Palani and Nanjangud via Erode and Chamrajanagar. The route was planned via Dharapuram, Kangeyam, Erode, Gobichettipalayam, Sathyamangalam and Chamrajanagar. The British had conducted surveys in 1922, 1936 and 1942 and survey stones were also laid for the proposed railway line. Sathyamangalam (also known as Sathy) is a town and municipality in Erode district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. 8 th century Town. It lies on the banks of the River Bhavani, a tributary of the River Cauvery in the foothills of the Western Ghats. It is about 65 km from Erode, 58 km from Tiruppur and 70 km from Coimbatore. Kollegal is one of the major taluks in the Chamarajanagara District of Karnataka State in the south of India. It is also the largest taluk in Karnataka, Kollegal is well known for its silk industry which attracts traders from all over the state. History Until 1956, Kollegal was part of the Coimbatore district of the Madras Presidency. The States Reorganisation Act of 1956 moved Kollegal to Karnataka primarily organising it along linguistic lines. Tiruppur District
Tiruppur District is one of the 38 districts of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, formed in 22 February 2009. Dharapuram was the largest taluk by area in the district. The district is well-developed and industrialized. The Tiruppur banian industry, the cotton market, Kangeyam bull and Uthukkuli butter, among other things, provide for a vibrant economy. Uthiyur (or Udhiyur (''Ūthiyūr'')) is a small town in Kangeyam taluk of Tiruppur district in south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
