Ernst Lemmer (April 28, 1898 – August 16, 1970) was a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and former member of the German Bundestag The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. Life Lemmer was a member of the German Bundestag from the increase in the number of Berlin delegates on February 1, 1952 until his death. From November 15, 1956 to October 29, 1957, he was Federal Minister of Posts and Telecommunications in Konrad Adenauer's second cabinet, and then Federal Minister for Pan-German Affairs from October 29, 1957 to December 11, 1962. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The Bundestag was established by Title III of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (, ) in 1949 as one of the legislative bodies of Germany and thus it is the historical successor to the earlier Reichstag. The members of the Bundestag are representatives of the German people as a whole, are not bound by any orders or instructions and are only accountable to their electorate.
