Ernst Krause (biologist)
Ernst Ludwig Krause also known under the pen-name Carus Sterne (22 November 1839 in Zielenzig, – 24 August 1903 in Eberswalde) was a German biologist. Initially a student of pharmacy, he later studied natural sciences at the University of Berlin. After graduation, he devoted himself to independent scientific research. He was a prominent and successful champion of Darwinism in Germany. He also maintained an extensive correspondence with Germany's most outspoken popular Darwinist, Ernst Haeckel. Ernst Krause (musicologist)
Ernst Krause (28 May 1911 – 8 August 1997) was a German musicologist and opera critic. Life Born in Dresden, Krause studied German and art history at the Goethe University Frankfurt. As a music critic, he first published in the ''Frankfurter General-Anzeiger''. In 1939, he moved to his hometown and worked as a journalist at the ''Dresdner Nachrichten''. From 1945 he was cultural editor for the ''Sächsische Zeitung''. From 1952, Krause worked as a critic for the ''Tägliche Rundschau'', from 1955 for the ''National-Zeitung (Berlin), National-Zeitung'' and from 1958 for the ''Sonntag (Wochenzeitung), Sonntag''. In 1955 Krause published his Strauss essay ''Richard Strauss - Gestalt und Werk'' (which was translated into six languages) and later ''Richard Strauss - Der letzte Romantiker''. Ernst Henry Krause
Ernst H. Krause (2 May 1913 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – 23 August 1989 in Newport Beach, California) was an American nuclear physicist and aerospace executive. He participated in early radar and rocketry research at the Naval Research Laboratory as the first chairman of the Upper Atmosphere Research Panel, working with Milton Rosen and succeeded by James Van Allen. His body of work includes experiments studying the upper atmosphere after World War II using captured V-2 rockets. From 1947 to 1951 he was involved in the first atomic testing at Enewetak Atoll in the Pacific, and later worked at the Lockheed Missiles and Space Company.
