Ernst Krause (musicologist)
Ernst Krause (28 May 1911 – 8 August 1997) was a German musicologist and opera critic. Life Born in Dresden, Krause studied German and art history at the Goethe University Frankfurt. As a music critic, he first published in the ''Frankfurter General-Anzeiger''. In 1939, he moved to his hometown and worked as a journalist at the ''Dresdner Nachrichten''. From 1945 he was cultural editor for the ''Sächsische Zeitung''. From 1952, Krause worked as a critic for the ''Tägliche Rundschau'', from 1955 for the ''National-Zeitung (Berlin), National-Zeitung'' and from 1958 for the ''Sonntag (Wochenzeitung), Sonntag''. In 1955 Krause published his Strauss essay ''Richard Strauss - Gestalt und Werk'' (which was translated into six languages) and later ''Richard Strauss - Der letzte Romantiker''. Goethe University Frankfurt
Goethe University (german: link=no, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main) is a university located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It was founded in 1914 as a citizens' university, which means it was founded and funded by the wealthy and active liberal citizenry of Frankfurt. The original name was Universität Frankfurt am Main. In 1932, the university's name was extended in honour of one of the most famous native sons of Frankfurt, the poet, philosopher and writer/dramatist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The university currently has around 45,000 students, distributed across four major campuses within the city. The university celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014. Sächsische Zeitung
''Sächsische Zeitung'' (; "Saxon Newspaper") is a regional German daily newspaper. The paper is published in Dresden. Its circulation is around 227.940, a fall of around 40% since 1998. Around 93% of copies sold are delivered to subscribers. Despite the name, the paper is mainly distributed in east Saxony. The paper's circulation is around ten times that of its main competitor, the ''Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten'', which is part-owned by one of the owners of the Sächsische Zeitung itself. The company which owns the paper, Dresdner Druck- & Verlagshaus GmbH & Co. is itself majority owned by Gruner + Jahr. The remaining 40% is owned by Deutsche Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft, which is wholly owned by the Social Democratic Party of Germany. It is published in Rhenish format. National-Zeitung (Berlin)
The ''National-Zeitung'' (NZ, ''National Newspaper'') was a weekly, far-right newspaper, published by Gerhard Frey, who also founded the far-right Deutsche Volksunion (German People's Union) as an association in 1971, turning it into a political party in 1987. The party was merged with the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD). NZ was last published in December 2019. The newspaper was first published in 1951 as the ''Deutsche Soldaten-Zeitung'', came under Frey's control in 1959, was renamed ''Deutsche National-Zeitung und Soldaten-Zeitung'' in 1960–61 and ''Deutsche National-Zeitung'' in 1963. In 1999 the newspaper was merged with another of Frey's publications, the ''Deutsche Wochen-Zeitung – Deutscher Anzeiger'', and became the ''National-Zeitung''. It lasted under this name for 20 years until December 2019 when it stopped publishing.
