Ernie Pitts
Ernie Pitts (March 8, 1935 – September 24, 1970) was a Canadian Football League wide receiver and defensive back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the BC Lions in a 14-year career in the CFL from 1957 to 1970. He won four Grey Cups with Winnipeg. In August 2019 he was inducted into the Canadian Football League Hall of Fame. College Ernie Pitts played intercollegiate baseball and football at University of Denver. Professional career Winnipeg Blue Bombers Ernie Pitts was a standout wide receiver who also played defensive back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1957 to 1969. For all those years except the last two, Ken Ploen was at quarterback. Aliquippa, Pennsylvania
Aliquippa is the largest city in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States, located on the Ohio River about northwest of Pittsburgh. George Pitts ''(né'' George Edward Pitts, Jr.; September 10, 1951 – March 4, 2017) was a Brooklyn-based photographer. Career Pitts was, in 1993, the founding Director of Photography at ''Vibe Magazine'', and served in that role until 2004. He was an assistant professor of Photography at Parsons School of Design. In 2004, he became the Director of Photography at ''Life'' magazine. His work has been published by ''The New York Times Magazine,'' ''Werk'', ''New York Magazine'', ''S Magazine'' and ''Complex.'' The ''Pittsburgh Courier'' was an African-American weekly newspaper published in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1907 until October 22, 1966. By the 1930s, the ''Courier'' was one of the leading black newspapers in the United States. It was acquired in 1965 by John H. Sengstacke, a major black publisher and owner of the ''Chicago Defender''. He re-opened the paper in 1967 as the '' New Pittsburgh Courier'', making it one of his four newspapers for the African-American audience.
