Hans Erni
Hans Erni (February 21, 1909 – March 21, 2015) was a Swiss graphic designer, painter, illustrator, engraver and sculptor. Born in Lucerne, the third of eight siblings, to a cabin cruiser engineer, he studied art at the Académie Julian in Paris and later in Berlin, and admired artists such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. He is known for having illustrated postage stamps, his lithographs for the Swiss Red Cross, his participation on the Olympic Committee as well as his activism. His 1939 works and first major public success was a mural titled Switzerland: "Vacation Land of the People" was commissioned and displayed for the national exhibition in Zürich. The Hans Erni Museum, situated in the grounds of the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, contains a large collection of artwork, he also designed ceramics and theatre costumes and sets. Erni Gregorčič (born 4 June 1976) is the most decorated and successful Slovenian powerlifter and record holder. He is a professional personal trainer and specialized strength coach. He is also the coach of Mariša Golob, the most successful female in Slovenian powerlifting history. Career In 1998 Erni Gregorčič started working in a local gym as a personal trainer and trained on daily basis. During his active years as a personal trainer he discovered powerlifting and was compelled to try it. He started competing in 2010 and since then won more than 30 World and European Championship titles in powerlifting, bench press, push&pull and deadlift. Throughout his powerlifting career he competed in many different powerlifting federations (GPC, WPC, GPA, WUAP, IPO, WPA) and still holds World and European records in a few of them. Erni Mangold (sometimes ''Ernie'' or ''Erna;'' born as Erna Goldmann on 25 January 1927) is an Austrian actress and stage director. Since 1948, she had appeared in more than 75 films and TV productions. Life Goldmann was born into a family of artists. The father was a painter, whilst her mother, who was likely to become a successful concert pianist, resigned to her career in favour of her family. She had piano lessons from age 4 to 14 years. Known in Liechtenstein legend as Golden Boos, Erni was the last person to be Capital punishment, executed by Liechtenstein. Erni was born in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Feldkirch to a homeless couple. Ernst "Erni" Maissen (born 1 January 1958) is a Swiss former footballer who played as a midfielder or striker during the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. He is best known for his three spells at FC Basel. Career Maissen played his youth football for local club FC Reinach, then moved on to play for the youth of FC Basel. He advanced to their first team for the 1975–76 season and signed his first professional contract under head-coach Helmut Benthaus. Ernest Cabat (July 7, 1914 – November 9, 1994) was an American artist. Cabat studied art formally in New York in the 1920 and early 1930s, before starting a decades-long career in advertising, ceramics and painting. He worked in Manhattan for a number of significant advertising firms and industrial design studios, before moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1942. In Arizona, he and Norval Gill established the Cabat-Gill Advertising Agency. The firm's work created and influenced the regional and charming mid-century brand of Arizona and the southwest. Erni Hiir (real name Ernst Hiir; 29 March 1900, in Karjatnurme, Kreis Fellin – 27 October 1989) was an Estonian poet and translator. From 1921 to 1922 he studied at the University of Tartu. From 1927, he was a member of Estonian Writers' Union. When Estonia was occupied in 1940, he was loyal to the Soviet authorities. From 1945 to 1960, he was the executive secretary of the Tartu branch of the Writers' Union. In 1962, he moved to Tallinn.
